    In this genuinely inspiring series you combined real artistry with such careful attention to detail, all of your layers of refinement of the skin were absolutely worthwhile to produce such a beautiful rendering and such realism to the eye. In the process you really demonstrated the value and possibilities of oil paints.
    The finished work is remarkable to enjoy looking at, but watching how you painted it was an absolute inspiring joy and I thank you for that friend.
    (In addition to your painting talent the videos were very well made too, and that's a quality work all of it's own)

    Brilliant job.
    The padding under the straps was made from compressed waste wool/fibres. It was a packing material used for cushioning Equipment that was to be air dropped. The Soldiers cut it into shoulder pads and fitted it to under their straps to act as padding.
    The colour is a dark brown/dark mauve. With light spots.

      Thank you🙏 and thank you for the info, that is very interesting and also very clever by the soldiers. Never heard of that before and glad to know it now🙏👌

    Your work goes to prove that investing time - enjoying the process, and focusing on the job brings excellent results. The subtlety of colour variation is wonderful here. Thank you for sharing your skills.

    Ein Meisterwerk, lieber Nils! Als absoluter Anfänger - zumindest wenn es um die Bemalung von Figuren geht - kann ich so unendlich viel von dir mitnehmen! Deine Pinselhaltung ist mir völlig neu und lässt mich nicht mehr los. Wird definitiv ausprobiert 🙂! Danke und LG Marco

    Very informative, thanks for doing these tutorials. Nice to see there are several ways to paint with oils and achieve a crisp finish! If you don't happen to own a slow cooker, how long would you find yourself needing to wait in-between the layers?
    Many thanks and keep up the great work!

    • @biberhunter_scale_models
      @biberhunter_scale_models  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much, happy you like my work🙏 I guess it depends on what layers. Between similar colours, a few hours should be good, when thinning with odourless thinner. Liquin needs more time to dry. If you want to change from dark to light colours I would wait until the next day until continuing painting. Hope this is helpful 👌

    Excellent tips. Thanks. Question for clarification - you mentioned you did many layers with several of the shades until you got the look you wanted. So did you do the 20 min dry in the slow cooker after every layer, even of the same shades?

      Thank you, happy to hear🙏 well, it's never a bad thing to take the time and cook it after every layer, even if they are all dark or light. Like this you have more control, otherwise the previous layer could still be slightly wet and it's getting more a wet in wet application. But it is possible to safe some time and only cook it when switching between light and dark colours. Maybe just give it a try how it works out best for you.👌
