- Check out this Triton Submarine that we came across at the Palm Beach Boat Show. This submarine is made not far from here at Sebastian, Florida. So, yes we were having fun making this video, but they do have a Submarine that did go down to the Titanic, here is a clip from their website:
Triton’s new 13000/2 TE, standing for Titanic Explorer, is designed to be the deepest-diving, acrylic-pressure-hulled submersible ever produced. It also is the first with retractable Gull Wings. FYI that sub he is showing is NOT a sub rated for the Titanic depths, that one may be the 3300/3 with is a 1000 meter rating. Titan does make an ultra deep dive sub and a Titanic Explorer sub, It is not that one, the guy is reading the wrong brochure.
lol these guys are so wrong. Not 38000 ft 36000. The sub there didnt find the titanic it is the 3300 ft model. The titanic is 13000 ft. Triton did make the sub for the titanic but this model infront of you definitely isnt it.

The guy in the video is an idiot and a liar. The Titanic wreck site was found in 1985. Triton Submarines didn't exist untill 2007. The sub that first dove on the Titanic was DSV ALVIN, in 1986.
And he didn't say this one did that he says triton subs do and he isn't the expert he said he think it is
This is the 1650/3 LP. (note the back porthole(side scuttle) for the 3rd passenger) It goes max 500 metres. The Triton 36,000/2 (titanium pressure hull) went to the Titanic. Triton’s new 13000/2 TE acrylic hull sub has not yet dived the titanic that I know of.

Oceangate couldve commissioned a custom built submarine from triton like victor vescovo did for his mariana trench dive. That might’ve even had the potential to be more profitable. They would have probably been able to do a lot more dives and would have had actual certification instead of resorting to operating in international waters to dodge laws. All of the triton subs also look more appealing than the tin can that stockton built. If only they had left the sub building to the professionals. So preventable
I don't think you can build a non-spherical hull for that depth (past 200m all triton submersibles have a spherical hull), and that means 2, max 3 seats (the triton one only carries 2). With the amount of money it costs to build one (the triton 13000/2 is probably 20 millions) they should have made the ticket price so much higher. So I don't know how much profitable that business could have been.

Triton has an off-the-shelf (not custom) acrylic bubble sub similar to the one in this video that can go to 4000m (Titanic depth). There was no need for anybody to be building shitty tin-cans in their garage.

the sub they're referring to is called the "limiting factor" which IS produced by that same company, but the video's heavily implying that the craft in the thumbnail is the one that's being referred to. Obviously if you watch the whole video and listen closely they do make that aspect more clear, but this video is clickbait
