Lol when you said "Front points" and then dug your heel into the snow, I was like "Everything I have ever known is a lie."

I see it all the time in GNP. Have you gotten the gear and are you coming back? You will love the freedom once you have the skills and gear!

Remembering you’ve removed your crampons is a real thing. It’s easy to forget. Thank you for pointing that out so folks don’t feel embarrassed.

LOL, my crampons (CAMP Ice Riders) are like 20 years old and still going strong but they do indeed need a "tap" once in a while! One thing, I'd like to add is that if one is not used to crampons, not only can they slip if they bugger up their foot placements but they can trip over for sure because they don't pick up their feet properly between moves and if they aren't wearing a helmet then it may be possible to stumble and bang your head. besides, it's a good idea to wear a helmet anyway.

Probably important to make sure you are showing the use of the ice axe with the strap that leashes it to you belt or pack hip belt. In a self arresting situation, the force can rip that axe right out of your hand and without it leashed to you, your axe is gone.
