    Love your teachings oh Rabi. I plan to watch all of them. You should be in every school in America.
    You failed to mention what Punic means in the phrase Punic Wars.
    They were called the Punic Wars after Punicus, the Roman word for Phoenician. The First Punic War lasted more than 20 years, from 264 to 241 BC. When the war began, the Carthaginians had a navy of several hundred ships, and Rome had no navy at all.

    I, too, add my thanks to you for making your lectures available to us! I am going to be placing an order soon for at least 3 of your books, so I can lend one out and not worry if it makes it back to me. I am thoroughly enjoying your teaching and the Sunday School lessons! May you be blessed a hundred fold for blessing us!

    The new chronology presented by David Rohl fixes this date of Troy's destruction three hundred years later.

    I remember hearing one time that that Sabines and Romans agreed to switch or alternate rulers. Did that happen here?

    • @GoreBruce
      @GoreBruce  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There was a compromise along those lines (see e.g., Paul A. Zoch, Ancient Rome, University of Oklahoma Press).

      After the Romans abductes the Sabine women, the Sabines retaliated with war, which in turn ended in the compromise that Romolus would share power with the Sabine ruler, Titus Tatius. That lasted until Titus died. After that there was only one king. There was no rule to alternate but the 2nd and 4th king were of Sabine descent. The 5th and 7th however were neither Latin nor Sabine but Etruscan.

    Hi. This comment is more of practice for me, then to dispute some facts. I listen very closely and know but only a little. Some 2 interresting points I want some clarety on... 1. You mentioned, very wisely, the clay of Daniël that has something to do with Rome. I say Yes, defenitly and maybe no... because the image of Daniël represents different Nations following eachather, that's way I think the clay represents the Christianety. Also only part of the roale of Romens at the far end of there reighn.
    2. Unfortunately I listen to thease presentations out of order, but have a good idea of my own, when it comes to the city that play the harlet. In ather presentasions you give a good reasen to identify Jerusalem...but in this presentasion you acknowledge Rome because Rev points to the seven hills...? I think there are a few ather characteristics to that wicket city also...I know you are cured if your fundamentalism, but I am not there yet...lol...

    I wonder how many nations have shared stories or even "law givers" were because "I will bless those that bless you, and curse those that curse you, and so shall you be a blessing to all the nations"

    Syracuse in Italy should be pronounced as the say it is in he Us. The spelling would not have Y or I. In Italian we pronounce it also the way Americans pronounce it in New York state.

    if mary can suddenly become pregnant why can't a vestal virgin? just asking.

    • @matthewbeiler8263
      @matthewbeiler8263 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it was prophesied that the messiah was to be born of the Virgin Mary. GOD chose Mary to give birth to the messiah. So GOD’s Spirit entered Mary and caused her to conceive give birth to the chosen One of GOD who would come and 33 years later die a gruesome and horrible death on the Cross so that our sins would be washed away.
      10 Then the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11 "Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; make it deep as Sheol or high as heaven." 12 But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!" 13 Then he said, "Listen now, O house of David! Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. 15 He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭7‬:‭10-15‬ NASB1995)
      And by faith alone are we saved through His grace! And if you don’t know Jesus Christ my friend you need to repent for the kingdom of GOD is at hand and your soul is on its way to hell for eternity! But GOD loves you. And waits for you to accept His Son into your life!

      @@matthewbeiler8263 besides the fact that Jesus can't be the messiah if he was born to the virgin Mary. the messiah has to come from the lineage of King David. if joseph wasnt his father (because she was a virgin) the Jesus CANNOT be the messiah as he has no David forbears.
