Good afternoon for me, Leslie. Hope Ritz has an easy time delivering. She has a pretty face. Those babies are telling you stories. That one is adorable. Poor Ritz as she’s having a rough one the first time hope she or you can get it out safely. Those boys play havoc with the moms with delivery. He looks handsome so far and at least survived the ordeal. She seemed to deliver easier than the boy. Wow two backwards😳 the third one is similar to the second one. Four seems a lot for first time mom. Congrats on all those babies. They are all beautiful❣️❤️🥰👍
You should try investing in a Resuscitator...they make them for different size farm animals...you need the lamb/kid one...they are a mask and tube that creates a suction to help pull out the secretions and helps them take those first breaths. They are a lil spendy ($80-$100)...but it can be washed and reused over and over. The bulb syringes are so controversial now days because they can cause as much harm as good. If depressed while in the airway...those secretions can get push deeper instead of sucked out...causing aspiration pneumonia...plus, you can't really clean them well...which makes them more likely to hold bacteria. Just thought I would mention it. 😊
Hi Leslie, I just wondered, what happens with weathered goats? Are they just pets? Your herd is fantastic, love all your goats. You put so much work and love into them and it really shows. Bless Ritzy, what a great mum! First time round too, she’s a natural ❤
@dreamcatcher3861 We sell wethers as pets. In larger breeds they are typically sold as meat goats but ours are small and do not yield enough to be worth it. Although some people do feed out their Nigerian wethers. Ritz did an amazing job and is such a great mom!
Why did you give the goat tums? I have never heard of anyone doing that before. Unless you mentioned it and I missed it in the video I was just curious why.
The tums were just for a little boost of calcium. Between the delivery and making milk for 4 babies it can help her. If she needed a large calcium dose I have other supplements for that 🙂
