In terms of dynamics, realism etc colin mcrae 2.0 is the pinnacle of ps1 rally games imo. However, for nostalgia reasons and also that it was such a fun game my favourite is Rally Cross lol.
I agree, Colin Mcrae 2 is top of the list & there are a lot of other very cool rally games available even though they are not as refined are still worth a look for sure.
I agree that CM2.0 deserves the top spot overall but my personal fave PS1 rally game and deserving of No2 spot > CM1 imo is VRally 2. It's incredible. Has a great sense of speed, great drifting, nice visuals and one of the best in game soundtracks EVER🤘 It plays even better than its Dreamcast counterpart! 😎
V-Rally 2 is an epic game that is very underrated which is a pity as it has so much to offer, like you said it plays great & the soundtrack is epic. I played the dreamcast version also & i enjoyed it but yea the ps1 version plays better & is easier to get into.
I agree for sure. They have a very unique aesthetic with very different styles, I was always intrigued by the graphics & visuals of these games. At that time back in the 90's it was mind blowing.

I agree with those choices but I would also consider Colin McRae Rally 2 to be up there although the visuals of the car models in the arcade mode are not as good compared to the single stage rally mode, that is were V-Rally 2 excels as the visual quality never dips regardless of the amount of cars on track, it still looks epic.
Sega Rally is definitely the better game for sure, I agree, I like this but it isn't as refined as Sega Rally, that game is one of the best Rally games ever...
From what i've been able to find out, RDAfrica just seems to be more of a favorite among rally fans. It is also easier to pick up & play compared to RDEurope as that is a more difficult game overall. Both are still excellent, i just found that RDAfrica felt more similar to Sega Rally. I would recommend you play them both as they are really good.

I think I may have asked you something similar to this before, but the main reason why I'm asking again is because from what I've seen it's just the same game pretty much. The jump from Sega Rally 1 to Sega Rally 2 looks a lot bigger than the jump from Rally de Africa to Rally de Europe at a glance.
Rally de Europe does vary slightly mainly with the graphics as it seems that there is more detail on the car models and environments but the game is harder to play as the tracks are not as wide as the 1st game so you will struggle with certain sections on some of the tracks. Although Rally de Africa feels and resembles Sega Rally a lot more than Rally de Europe.
If I was to pick between the two, both are excellent games but Rally de Africa is the winner as for me 100% as it feels and plays more like Sega rally than Rally de Europe as that is a harder game overall.
My fav: CMR2, CMR1, VRally2, Michelin, WRC1. and mention: Makinen steering OK but look poor, and VRally1 & Mobil1 look good but steering terrible. Rest is shit.
I agree, parts of the video aren't great & could be better, I just put it down to experience, before i started the channel i had very little experience with video editing & working with setting up emulators correctly but there is plenty of room for improvement which will continue as the channel grows...! We all make mistakes it's all part of the journey...! 😁

I think Tommi Makkinen Rally was Made by the same developers of Network Q RAC Rally, they used the same car design and the intro song is the same
Better to see these games in original resolution. Then maybe your emulator could play them smoothly! Also that’s the best res to play PS1 game’s imo.
Colin mcrae was the best i remember using a steering wheel for it and it was class

Which one in terms of visual aspect is the best out of rally games on PS1? I think it would be V-Rally 2 or Rally Championship. Hard choice..
