Hey man, seems like you know a lot about the 3rz. In your experience how long would you say they last with typical maintenance? I have been considering doing this for my tacoma.. are there any recommendations you might have to get the engine “healthy” before slapping the SC on? Sorry you had to go through all that headache btw, sucks when it’s your daily driver.
When you torque to spec using blue Loctite on those flywheel/clutch bolts, do you account for the extra lubricity it provides and lower your final torque spec by some percentage?
did you build the suspension on this truck from a kit? Or was it all custom fab work? doing something similar on an 83' Econoline and trying to get some advice for bracket building
Hey dude. Really hope you answer. What do you think caused the engine to blow? The supercharger? And lack of fuel? Or was it truly because of the muffler?
I'm not a fan of such a large engine in the bay, and having the custom oil pan needed to get it in there. It makes getting parts while on the road hard. Everything I have is an off the shelf part right now. Wiring isn't an issue, if I don't want to do it myself Off Road Solutions will get the wiring done for me. I am currently finishing up a 1UZ into an 84 and I am not at all a fan of the non serviceability compared to a smaller engine.
Not sure what ecu youre running but if it is the stock one, youll want to upgrade to stand alone. Elite 1500 and meth injection will put you where you want to be
I’m being real and they are he’s and she’s and sometimes they’re pissed off and others they’re grateful for an amazing life. Of course they’re not. But it’s ok for me to make jokes and have a good time buddy 🙌🏼😬
Man o man was that a lot to go through man I feel for you but you didn’t give up and you got the truck dialed man great perseverance. God bless
The orange toyota pickup is so gosh darn beautiful🫠
You could probably add a methanol injector at the throttle body. It cools the supercharger and helps with low rpm load knocking
I never had an issue until the muffler exploded, I do want more fuel though.

If I would have known you were in Reno I would have brought out my '87 Jeep Comanche Motorhome (Nova Star).

No, torque specs assume you’re using proper lubricant to see proper torque values. It’s so marginal anyway, wouldn’t matter

100% the muffler, engine wasn’t actually ‘blown’
@@ElevatedOverland interesting. What were the symptoms? You heard a noise?
@@ElevatedOverland what ended up being the dead giveaway it was the muffler?
@@cammk9415 the entire fiberglass packing material was in a ball at the end and when I cut it off it ran fine.
Why not fit a 1UZ V8 in it? Also another great motor to put in the Hiace...Somewhat common swap in Aussie land and the mounts/harnesses are available.

A 3rz would be a good upgrade
it would still run if you used the halltech snp has
Did you clean the oil pump? 😬😬😬
Oil was clean, but yea we did! 🍻
does anyone have a step by step 3rz swap instructions ? I want to swap my 85 runner has to be California legal
I have a video, no step by step written instruction.

Can't hide money lol
Nice video! Waiting for your email response😀
Can I get that supercharger from you?
Haha this one’s mine
These vehicles are not he's and she's. They are not happy or sad. Just be real.
