This was my childhood growing up watching wheel with John And Adriana it's good to watch some classic wof even though I don't remember watching these but I'm glad to watch them now as an adult thank u!!!!
The Holy Trinity of Australian weekday evening TV for me in those days was Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and Sale of the Century! John and Adrianna were a magic couple. It was great entertainment.
This wheel in Adelaide was the best. It seemed to roll nicely and being flat and always in shot was nicely done. They lost their minds changing it and sacking Burgo.
I got Round 2 with only the T's. A pretty high Bankrupt, but Stella made up for it, and the red letter definitely helped. A nice win. The staff didn't seem to want a win on the bonus puzzle, though. Vowel overload.
In 1992, John and Adriana actually appeared on an episode of the American version of the show with Pat Sajak and Vanna White (which is still going strong). At the time, American WOF had some special episodes at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and several countries that had their own versions of this show, sent their host, hostess, or both. I believe the clip with John and Adriana is still up on TH-cam somewhere.
It is, was October 1991 (Burgo even talked about it in an interview after Adriana's passing). Here's the full episode. th-cam.com/video/saBfbcelmj8v/w-d-xo.html (and our Wheel and its' hosts are STILL going strong BTW, after nearly 40 years on air in syndication now, and a little over that if you count their network beginnings before that (show itself has been running here in some form, day or night since 1975, only The Price is Right, which is in its' 50th year as I type this, has been on consecutively like that longer as far as game shows' go).
@@ajk I remember seeing a couple of these episodes when they originally aired. If I remember correctly, the Canadian host was part of it. I remember being confused a bit at first, considering I'm Canadian myself. It was then mentioned on there that Donald Lautrec hosted "La Roue Chanceusse" for the French-speaking population, mainly in Quebec. It looks like it lasted for about three years there.
@@bluebear1985 I wish there was more than the one show out there from this special series of shows, would love to see the others. Would England have been a part of it that you remember? I'd imagine it was likely. Not shocked about Canada either, many of their foreign imports have tended to be French adaptations. Family Feud being one of the few exceptions, having an English version too.
@@ajk I stumbled across a news clip once where they talked about the international hosts coming to Disney World for this anniversary celebration. I believe one of those they interviewed was Carol Smilie, the UK hostess at the time. I'm not sure if her colleague, Nicky Campbell, made the trip or not. As for the Feud, the English language one is only in its third season now. Previously, we had a French one under the title "La Guerre Des Clans". I think it had two different incarnations.
@@bluebear1985 Yeah I recall it had at least one French version before. How many other English adaptations has Canada had? Only other one that comes to mind is Millionaire, even filmed on the US set in NYC, but it didn't but a night as I recall.
Somebody was a bit overzealous on the sound effects, ringing the puzzle reveal sound twice at 8:43, and ringing the final spin bell twice during the bonus round, once at 19:52 and at 20:02 instead of the incorrect buzzer. A few seconds later the buzzer does sound.
FINALLY, a new episode of Aussie wheel So it turns out the red mystery letter was introduced before the Bonus Wedge. I wonder if the Bonus wedge was introduced in late 1993 or not until the start of 1994, because there's an episode from 'early' 1994 (before Burgo's 10th anniversary) on here which features both

No, from time to time the sponsor supplied a different model - during Ford’s sponsorship they offered up a Laser first and then later on the Festiva. But the sponsors changed over the years. Holden was the first as far as I know and they supplied the car prize until 1991. Ford was next and stayed with the show until about mid 1994, followed by Renault until mid-late 1995 and again in 2003. Mazda was a sponsor very briefly in 1995, followed by Hyundai all through 1996 and the first 5 weeks of 1997, Proton from 1997-2000 and again in 2002, Daewoo in 2001 and then Mitsubishi from 2004 to the very end in 2006.
Aussie version never multiplied the amount spun by the instances of letter called. Some rounds had a red letter, where if called, doubled that spin. Example, if 145 was hit and the red letter was a T, that 145 would become 290.
Truly the greatest episode of all time! Loved all the contestants, especially one ;)

I used to only watch it for Adrianas beautiful dresses and skirts. She was gorgous. I loved her full sweep twirling skirts. so flowing and pretty
Me too but she died 11 years ago apparently
19:53 Groovy! I miss this era. Thanks for bringing it back
All the prizes are deep in landfill now
the only time i actually don't want to skip the ads are footage from the 90s
CAR
Man TV camera operators knew how to make zoom effects interesting back then. Just watch as the camera cuts to John walking on set.

Love how simple and exciting everything was then lol . "Ooooh, a plate set" wow.

During the bonus round they always sounded the buzzer sound twice before the incorrect buzzer sound to end the chance to solve the puzzle

I managed to come across this video in an old box. Then trying to find a video player still operational was a task and a half. No other vids sorry.
Were have i seen Simon from ????
He reminds me of someone from Play School
Were they always giving away a ford hatchback on wheel of fortune Australia?

You know, Stella, you could wait until John finished his spiel.
I think Stella jumped right in and solved the puzzle, not even waiting for John to finish off his Spiel.
Their prizes looks like an op shop
It was like the magic cave back in 1993. :-)
10,617 views...... LOL..... REALLY? I know I am watching it but WOW that's a lot of people!!!!
11:47 Anyone catch the license plate on that truck? Ouch!
I'll admit I jump around a little watching this so maybe I missed something but why does Stella's total drop by $14 at the end of the show?
Never noticed that. All I know is that I was robbed on that show:-)
21:48 I wondered where the top dollar music came from
4:15 He landed on the $90 wedge and there were 3 "S" and when he was going to spin he had $90 yet, why? :O
