You should name your next video how to turn off aim assist! I've wanted mine off forever finally learned how and it was the best thing ever!!!
As a fan of yours I hate to tell you that they are right. I'm a controller player and for the first few games I play without aim assist to warm up, then when I'm sick of dying I turn it on just by switching off ALC. The target compensation is still switched off on the list, but because ALC is off I have aim assist.
I'm sat in firing range right now testing it, and you absolutely 100% get aim assist when ALC is off.
It's an alc setting, the moment you turn alc back off it reverts to the basic controller settings.
For everyone wondering/debating about how ALC Settings affect Aim Assist, let me give you the rundown.
If you turn off Target Compensation in ALCs, It WILL disable any and all Aim Assist. However, turning off ALCs altogether (as Rachet did in this video) will re-enable Aim Assist again. Disabling Target Compensation does not carry over into regular Controller settings. ALCs MUST be enabled for this to remain in effect.
I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. In this video, Rachet DID have Aim Assist on the entire time. It's unfortunate, but true.

Yea. If you don’t keep ALC on then aim assist is still on. So I think you had it on for this whole video. Which is probably why it didn’t feel different for him.

if u really think that playing on MnK is easier than on controller, ur wrong. AA helps u aiming on controller a LOT, but nothing helps u aiming on MnK and ur not using THE WHOLE ARM to aim if ur not playing with 1.0 sens 400dpi

I just tested it. ALC has to be on to turn off aim assist. Maybe im doing something wrong. But you did say you didnt feel a difference. But i can always tell when its on and off. Idk

I thought you can only disable aim assist when you have ALCs on, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that if you disable ALCs, AA comes back on...? Either way, you fryin' Ratchet! :)

@@Dayz671 As a solo queue Masters console player, my aim on PC (2 hours of FPS games in the last ten years, not exaggerating) at close range is better than my aim on console at close range. It's my mid-range that's brutally good at controller. People overestimate how good controller is at close range. I'll take the rapid turns that you need especially when someone is punching you that MnK offers over the slow and clunky movement of controller any day. Especially with shotguns, the complete absence of fine attunement of controller is a pain.

Hey when you on regular there is aim assist but if you have alc controls on and aim assist off then you have no aim assist. But alc has to be turned on
As a PC player I thank you for shedding light on console aim assist as a console player yourself.
You've shown that you absolutely can be great at apex on controller without aim assist. I hate that when most PC players come across controller players they discount all skill immediately, but there's a truth there that no matter how you try n flip it, its literally unnatural aim assistance. Its like butter n margarine, they might be similar at first glance, but they're different.
No, its not aimbot, but it can sometimes be the deciding factor of a fight. I personally think it should be nerfed a little though, it IS frustrating dying to little timmy whos level 8 and only played fps games for a couple weeks hahaha

Pretty sure you can only disable aim assist with alc controls activated. I've never seen that option outside of alc settings or am I wrong? I've used them since the beginning of the game and the numbers and comp assist value setting has been added since then on console at least.

My aim assist is always off in the alc's, but I only turn on the alc to warm up. Then when I'm tired of dying I switch off alc and my aim assist returns
Here is a thought on aim assist. If you want to complain it should be removed from the game you can't have more than 5 inches of mouse space
The only thing I would say is that sim assist is fine as it is. As I’m a casual player, if it was to get nerfed I wouldn’t have the time to spend practicing, as I hop on then off.
Maybe they could add options in the future to tweak the aim assist? Similar to the aim mechanism
They do have options default aim assist which is .6 and pc aim assist which is .4
M&K players who complain about aim assist have never tried controller looting. Plus they can tap strafe. Sooo I think thats a fair trade off if you ask me.

I think controller players need aim asist because Pc player have so many keys and a extra mouse and we just got two joysticks and x,o,square,triangle,L2,R2,L1,R1 and the arows.
the only way to turn of aim assist on default settings is playing on 8 sensitivity.
I solo queued to platinum without aim assist, but I didn't know that aim assist was in the game in the first place and it was automatically turned off for me ever since I started playing the game back in Season 2.

M&K players always complain ab how op aim assist is but if its really that much of an advantage why dont they just switch to controller then if its so easy. They chalk up any mechanical skill on controller to aim assist purely and it doesnt make sense. In my personal opinion the things you can do on M&K like the movement techniques and aiming techniques such as jitter aiming and tap strafing outweigh the benefit of aim assist on controller maybe im dumb but thats how I see it.
You don't understand how amazing it is to see pc players move while looting a deathbox lol could never. There is a tiny hack around this but it's kind of difficult to pull off

The aim assist option is only for ALC setting because it would be like turning your yaw and pitch speed all the way up just to go back on 4,4 settings it doesn't actually change anything if you aren't on ALC

In order for target compensation to truly be off you have to keep advanced settings on. If you turn those settings back off then whatever you changed doesn't apply to the normal settings. I've already tried this. If you don't believe me, then aim at an enemy and see if your sites follows them

Thanks for doing this on behalf of all controller/console players man. I've turned aim assist off on PS, and I didn't even notice. Aim assist is weaker on PC, and I didn't notice that either when I tried PC for a bit. For all you idiots saying aim assist aims for you, try this in firing range: Plug in that controller, slap the best barrel mod on it, then fire a 301 (very little recoil) at a dummy without controlling the recoil. I'll spoil the results: You'll hit a single shot. ONE! One shot out of that 28 round clip and then it's off target by multiple inches if not a freaking meter.
Aim assist? It literally doesn't do shit. It doesn't help you stay on target. All it does is help adjust towards the DIRECTION of the target, but the moment firing begins, it does nothing.
Meanwhile you got idiots like Snipedown saying it's broken while oblivious to the fact that he's the worst player in every comp he's in because they're all MnK...

Imo, someone who's good on controller will be good on m&k and visa versa. People swear having aim assist is what makes a player, but understanding rotation and positioning and leverage and team work is what makes a good player.

I used to play with it off, but just back on apex after a few weeks and turned AA off and my god i felt like dog shit lmaooo. I used to fry with it off but so rusty and gotta change my alc setting. FOV really fucks with you when AA is off cuz far FOV targets so small and hard to hit. God forbid if it’s an octane 🤣
Rachet I feel the pain but do you realise that if you turn off ALC it still gives you aim assist. I’m on controller btw. The no aim assist only works if ALC is on because you can’t put aim assist off in normal settings. Just saying before you make this amazing series I just want to make sure you know. No hate bruh 😤
