Pointless to compare Arkansas HS football and Texas HS football. We should be comparing to Mississippi with similar demographics. Not only do they have 3 D1 schools there but also the jucos and they produce way more talent. I have to think thereâs higher participation and more resources. Biggest problem with Arkansas talent is your largest metro area has given up on football for the public schools. LRSD football is terrible outside of Parkview. No resources for football and everyone focused on basketball. Sad really. Hogs are better when there are a dozen or so good players from Central Arkansas.
Josh this is going to hell in a hand basket. Because DJ is breaking down film on Green you have all your fans thinking Singleton should be starting. Just look at the comments. Bobby was excellent at identifying and utilizing talent during his original run with the Hogs, but his underutilization of Teslaa this season is borderline criminal. He has more TDs on three catches (that 70-yard bomb against A&M, two receptions for two scores against LA Tech) than Broden has had all year
@@jdhogfan1 That's true - I remember on several of DJ's film breakdowns he would point out Teslaa running open while Green would force the ball to AA or another receiver in tight coverage

@ does stats really matter that much ? How about you dive a lil deeper and see what our O has done vs sec competition. Donât really count the games where weâre padding stats. Green stinks. Heâs not a sec qb.
Here's a question for you, Do you think Bobby Petrino is maximizing the helmet communication with Taylen. Taylen is obviously not good at reading defenses and setting pass protctions. You have 25 seconds to communicate this to hime before the audio turns off. I think the defense should be read by the coaches in the pressbox and the play called by bobby. Bobby should then go over the reads with Taylen then snap the ball. The defense could change the play but there's probably no better defense to play against than one where half the players are doing one thing and half doing another.
No argument is better than tape. We donât care about what people are doing in practice when our defense knows whatâs coming. Look at the game tape. Singleton deserved the starting position after the ole miss game. Singleton had a 44 yard rush against ole miss when green couldnât do jack. If petrinos offense is so hard , thatâs what you and DJ should do, a breakdown as to what exactly is so hard with this offense. I feel like singleton , who is the better QB would work better in this pro offense. Thereâs not really an argument for green besides âpotentialâ but if weâre going off of potential, how does that apply to singleton? He has zero turnovers with zero reps with the starters. So sad that once again because of this mismanagement weâre gonna lose singleton and Braylon Russell, and I heard the metcalf boys said they either get a nil bad, or theyâre out. It just sucks that our head coach blames the fans when 70k fans show up week in and week out just to watch a circus, meanwhile basketball is begging people to show up. We are a FOOTBALL community. We like basketball, but clearly more people care about football. So sad that they have all the keys, except the head coach. PITTaful.
Taynover Green has no fundamental throwing motion or footwork. His release is so slow itâs pathetic. Thatâs why he always tosses behind a receiver. You folks will be over Taynover by next October.
Green does the same thing every game. He looks for armstrong while other recievers are open. The Texas game green had a receiver wide open in the endzone. Green did not even look beyond Armstrong and threw to Armstrong for a short gain. I now understand why two receivers left the team.
I said in in summer and will say it again, we need a NEW QB room. We do NOT have a single QB on the roster that is SEC caliber. Until that is fixed, we are going to stay a mediocre team. We have other problems too, but without a good QB, things going to stay the same.
Why don't we have better HS football players? Arkansas has the smallest population in the SEC excepting Mississippi. Arkansas has the lowest avg number of students per school district than any state in the SEC yet we have MORE school districts than all but three of those states. What does all this mean? It means our best HS athletes are spread all over the state into too many schools that dilute the talent of those schools. For example, in Washington Co you have Fayetteville, Springdale, Har-Ber as large schools with generally good athletes playing together. But what if you combined Farmington, Prairie Grove and Lincoln as well as Elkins, Greenland, and West Fork. You get the best players from those three small schools playing together. Not only do you combine the best athletes, they would play similar and better competition. Further, the large schools have the $$ for good coaches, staffs, and facilities. The small schools often have coaches that are not as good with little to no staff and inferior facilities. The Washington Co. scenario plays out all over the state. Go to South Arkansas and look at Union Co. Imagine the athletes if you combined El Dorado, Smackover, Junction City, Parkers Chapel, and Huttig. The scenario I prescribe is what plays out in most other SEC states. Look at Mississippi. Tupelo is playing for the State Championship in the largest classification. Lee Co Miss. has one school district and one High School: Tupelo. Every athlete in Lee Co plays for Tupelo High School and they play a schedule vs. similar schools. If a 5 star football player comes out of Tupelo HS you know he has played the best competition in the state, has been coached by highly trained coaches, and works out in the finest facilities. Can you say the same about a 5-Star who comes out of Hope, Arkansas (and no offense to Hope or kids who play there)?
My main problem is the silly mistakes and lack of improvement during the season. That's on Sam and BP.
