I was 11yrs old when this song came out. I loved the beat, but as I got older I understood the meaning of the song and gave it a whole new meaning. Love this song 🥰
I met him after he sang this song on Countdown and he was very nice. Being a regular Countdown kid that lived 15 minutes away from the studio helped me (and my sister) meet a lot of these performers. Great time to be alive.
I was 10 years old when this was a hit. I loved hearing this song on the radio then and I still love listening to it played on the radio today. Shepparton radio station 98.5 FM just played it now just before 2pm news break 🤩❤
In 1981, I was studying my last year at High school back in Mexico city. Three boys and one girl Gaby, rowing at Aragon's lake. The four of us, in a small boat, great memories are recalled by this tune!!
J.D. ortiz I grew up to it but I love the other version. I think if you look up tired of toeinthe line mega 80s it pulls up a cover or something by a youtube channel called the musicmaker mega 70 and 80. the originalis good but the remake of it is so kuch better. has more emphasison the guitar. also great for doing an air guitar or if you're like me, using your cat as the guitar.
Me too. This song was so cool. August 1980, when this song played a lot everywhere. I asked my cute girlfriend to marry me. On 21 March 2021, it will be 40 years.
He did it live in the recording studio. Of course the studio version is great, but I would sure love to hear/see at least one live version. Must have done it some, they say he toured Europe after this came out. Apparently he still is doing music but must have pretty much left the star stuff.
Baby, I'm tired of toeing the line. Don't know why you want to jump on me, Baby, baby, baby, and make-a me cry. Baby, I, I'm gonna find myself someone new, Someone who will be true, But no more toeing the line. I know it's o-ooh-over, cause I've seen the signs. Don't let me waste your precious time. Baby, I'm tired of toeing the line. If you want to get uh-rid of me, Baby, baby, baby, you're doin' fine. Baby, I'm tired of toeing the line. I'm gonna put on my walkin' shoes And leave you far behind. You're rolling over in clover so refined, But you can't fix this broken heart of mine. Baby, I'm tired of toeing the line. Don't know why you want to jump on me, Baby, baby, baby, and make-a me cry. Baby, I'm tired of toeing the line. Don't know why you want to jump on me, Baby, baby, baby, and make-a me cry. Hi Linda. Yes. Johnny Burnette was his dad. He was a big pop singer in the late 50's and early 60's . He died in 1964 at the age of 30 from a brain tumor. Rocky was 10 years old when his dad passed. Their only child. He plays the type of pop music that his dad did. I love this song.
I was in the audience and I was 12.. lol The age range for audience / show attendees was 9 to 18, and CD decided what age wound surround particular artists. Kids were not difficult. They'd shut up and clap. Mid to older teens could be mouthy, or forget they're on a TV show and start talking like it's a social gathering. That's why most shows had kids.
He is more than one hit wonder. He so talented. His voice is so beautiful!
Loved this song. Memories of my cute girlfriend, we fell in and have been married almost 40 yrs. Love this song.
Number 1 hit in Australia.. no wonder Rocky jumped on a Plane to Oz to lap up the glory.

Wonderful voice and singer. In the 80,'s that song was a great hit. Long Life for you Burnett Jr.
I have heard 1000s of trx and this still does it after 40 yrs

Gotta git my time machine finished ASAP!I always loved the Countdown venue it was so intimate.
One of my favorite songs and year graduation 1980 miss the music and year
amo escuchar este tema despues de tantos años
Thank you for sharing, I love this song!!!!
In that time all singers made playback! That was a rule. Rocky only did the music industrie required. Low cost! But he can sing live.
La buena musica nunca muere ❤
Australian Countdown is the best.
in my playlist.great uptempo beat.he has good singing genes from his rockabilly legend johnny burnett of you're sixteen fame.
Cool to see this.....amazing song
Essa música é show saudade da minha juventude
Pretty awesome
Lindaaaa
Is Rocky Burnette, regards
One of the best lip sync jobs in the business...
Terrible!
Loved the song, I always wondered why the guitar never had a cord ?
Rocky and WWF manager The Mouth Of The South were separated at birth. As I’ve never seen them together on stage, maybe they are the same person.
Does this guy ever actually perform the song live? You know, by actually singing and/or playing?
MrNobodynotime
I'v been saying the same thing.
Every live version he's lip syncing.

Due to production costs the ABC- Countdown demanded Artists Lip Sinc; Simple as that
why would singing affect production costs?
@@jasonlee7816 it requires bigger space and musical instruments logistics

Brasil 2020
This frist time I see this video on here
Why did they finish the song early?
Probably because of the long guitar break coming up. No fire hose and ladies this time!
I originally thought the song was Bat Out Of Hell.
I wonder if rocky is related to johnny
Hi Linda. Yes. Johnny Burnette was his dad. He was a big pop singer in the late 50's and early 60's . He died in 1964 at the age of 30 from a brain tumor. Rocky was 10 years old when his dad passed. Their only child. He plays the type of pop music that his dad did. I love this song.
Bonita estoy cansado de seguir la línea,
The claps were more real than the performance. Guitar was wireless lol
And his mouth nowhere near the mic half the time 😂
Why are the audience 12 year old kids?
Adults didn't go to Countdown..
@@petesmitt Yeah sure, thats the reason.
@@petesmitt Or maybe Rocky likes little girls, thats the real reason.
I was in the audience and I was 12.. lol
