i have a great idea....whoever owns this turret should rig up a sound system so when you pull the tap or trigger it'll make loud machine gun sounds and too bad you can't also make it recoil, shake and move around as it shoots !!!!!
I would presume them to be flash hiders, not so the enemy can't see you, but to prevent the gunner from being blinded by the flash of his own guns firing at night.

It's in a private collection but makes appearances at some air shows in the southeast.
This turret which was restored by the Turret Museum is in the Atlanta Georgia area.
