There’s not a chance an entire league will start up in a few months. It just won’t happen. There’s no chance they could properly organize every team, coach, player, jerseys, travel, scheduling. They likely couldn’t even find enough available ice in time. These venues need to be booked well in advance.
@@MikeBartner yeah it's not his finest moment. Felt like UrinatingTree's sponsorship with Established Titles (although credit to both for recognizing the issue as soon as they caught wind of shadiness)
@leifopstad2972 I mean, I always thought it was a gag gift. If you're dumb enough to buy a square yard of land on Scotland so people can call you Lord, you're kind of a dork anyway.
Steve Dangle has since deleted said video and put out a tweet saying he received several concerning reports. Whether that means the league is still a go idk but he’s distancing himself from it it appears.
I just dont want the talent to be watered down between two leagues. The pool of high-end hockey talent is not as deep as other sports due to the high costs associated with the sport. Most kids cant afford to play competitive hockey.
Sounds fake, or really dumb. I'm not driving 30 minutes each way and pay for parking so I can watch a 40 minute 3 on 3 game with players I don't care about.
If this is real, NHL needs to take it seriously. Everyone in golf laughed off LIV at first but money talks and plenty of hockey players will take more money over a faint chance at the Cup. Look at how many pro soccer players jumped to the Saudi league and the absurd wages they’re getting. Sounds like they haven’t worked out arenas yet so I’m not getting my hopes up. But if they get their shit together this could disrupt the NHL, especially around the draft
As someone who doesn't know much about this, could someone tell me what would be the incentive for Saudi Arabians to create an unprofitable sports league in North America? I don't understand why they would do that
I'm sure if it isn't funded by Saudi's it'll be funded by jerseys littered with advertisements. Cool option for echl players to make some good money though. not sure why any AHL or NHL player would want to partake
I think the top candidate to go to this league is Alex Galchenyuk. Basically not allowed in the NHL anymore and maybe wouldn't want to keep playing in Russia since its so far away. Also his personality issues while controversial could bring attention to the league.
the moment saudi arabia was mentioned...i just about lost all interest should have a league w/ a smaller rink and have it be 2v2 w/ a goalie like one of the best hockey games ever made...NHL open ice
Ive watched Steve for 10 years but he has to be the only hockey "personality" dumb enough to get tricked into posting this 😂😂
Yea I like Steve but sticking out and being the first to report on this was bold and it appeared it backfired quick

Steve just announced that he'd be taking down the video about this league.
Rough look

I am super excited to see what happens, and I wonder if it will end up like the WHL?
I saw Steve’s video but I’m not on twitter so I had no idea people were speculating about Saudi Arabia, that’s wild if true.

He deleted the video, the mbon call out hit him too hard
HAAHAHAHAAH within 15 minutes of it!
aaaaand its gone

Agreed can't have it turn into LIV
Nail yakupov licking his chops
No league will compete as long as lord stanley is the crown jewel of the nhl and the biggest prize in hockey
The PGA said the same thing about the Masters…
Money talks lmao give enough money and they will go flocking
I upvoted and want to believe, but Lord Benjamin has ruined plenty of things before…
until Saudi buys the Stanley Cup
@@youngsvph7573 nhl will never let that happen
I heard it was 30 million, total salary for the whole league. IDK..😂
Carter hart will be joining
YOOOOOOOOO chill

Yep 24 minute games is absurd

Kinda crazy that no one else had reported it first, sounded kinda fishy from the start and is now a pre bad look at sdpn

They must have offered sdpn a boat load for them to buy into this fairy tale
Sounds kinda gimmicky to me, but heck what do I know?
Extremely gimmicky

Maybe nail yakupov can finally make a comeback 💀
I think its great because the NHL product has only gotten worse year after year.
Also women's hockey is awful so they will easily get better ratings
I wonder if the Hawks can leverage this to get out from under the Seth Jones contract? 🤔😂
480 million in salary alone is crazy
Absolutely bonkers!
@@MikeBartner did you see Steve deleted his videos maybe worth an update
BREAKING NEWS; Steve Dange falls for one of those troll accounts on Twitter. Real talk I can see Saudi launching their own league
3 on 3 league sounds like a dream for many "hockey artists" more then hockey players.
What’s even funnier is that major league hockey isn’t even trademarked in the US or Canada 😂.
i don’t think it matters who’s funding it tbh
Kinda does, Saudi has money to fund this for decades while for others this will flop instantly
They could go after big names like Stamkos and Kane
Who's gunna own all these teams?
Saudddddiiiisss
I'm worried about the AHL actually
I was extremely excited for this new league and I still am but idk about that 3 on 3 I not sure about it
4 on 4 could work, 3 on 3 is too gimmicky
