i don't think he's talking about the average commute to work.. but if you plan on taking it to a track, you can literally download the exact track and practice it before actually going to learn the turns and stuff. sure you won't have the same Gs going through corners but it still helps you improve
not to mention the fact that you can learn to drive a manual transmission without completely roasting your/someone's clutch in the process

The driving simulator sounds kinda cool. I wouldn't trust it to equal a real life driving license. But it would be cool if it can simulate car accidents for drivers so they could prepare to react and not panic if accidents ever happen irl. Sounds kinda neat tbh

i mean, what do you expect him to do? shift into 3rd and bog down losing all his speed going through the corner? he's not simulating driving to the store, he's driving a rally car that would break 0 sweat when redlining the piss out of it
@@B0F Düd if you shift from 4gear lets say 8k rpm on 2 gear you would get like 18k rpm and at that point your pistons are playing space simulator not a rally. He can shift into that 2 gear but maybe first break to a reasonable speed instead of just jamming it because its just a game.
@@Gamerdu45 he wasn't at the top of 4th gear though, the lights on the dash weren't even blinking yet
@@B0F In the entire video the lights doesnt flash and he always shift at red so im assuming its redline. It doesnt matter even if he was at 60% of the rpm in 4, the engine is done in 2 gear. Im done its just a videogame.
@@Gamerdu45 have you even driven a manual car irl? you can drop down more than one gear without breaking stuff if you rev match, it's not unheard of. for example, cruising in 6th or 5th gear on the interstate at 3.5k rpm down to 3rd or 4th gear at about 5.5k rpm. obviously these are just random ballpark numbers, but it applies to all situations whether it's geared for rallycross or not

Pepega without driving license talking about how you can become a good driver because of a game lol. In huge simulators worth hundreds of thousands used for training professional drivers? Sure. Using a homemade setup? No, not really. First time I sit in a car and pressed the gas pedal too hard I shit myself when rpm suddenly went up to 5k. Game and home setup lack too many stimuli and variables to make any significant difference.
If you're dumb enough to hit the gas pedal that hard then nothing can really help you let alone simulators.

In response to simulators: There are real life racing drivers who have PRIMARILY or WHOLLY come from playing Racing Sims, such as James Baldwin, Jimmy Broadbent and Igor Fraga to name a few, so it's definitely true.
