The relatability & gratitude u mention R the things I immediately latched on to the most from chp. 1 so I'm glad it was a strong point for u too. I'm glad u acknowledge the manga an anime R very diff cus for some reason ppl they jus keep denyin it but I heavily disagree on ur opinion on the 2 comparatively. I loved CSM from chp. 1 but the anime not only chooses completely butcher wut made CSM CSM, they also replace it wit this stupid & incredibly "mediocrely" executed "muh mainstream hollywood 'cinema'" without realizin that the style & story go hand in hand & changin 1 negatively impacts & even destroys the work at the base level. It stops bein CSM. I adore the amount of work that went into the production like the completely diff EDs but the direction kills so many things like the feel of the world, the pacin, & even the characters. There's 1 scene near the end of the season I always point to as a textbook showcase of all the problems that were ultimately unnecessary & misrepresent CSM. I hate that creative choice & in the end they couldn't even do it in an "exceptional" enough way to attempt to compensate. They wanted to be "unique" but ironically it's less unique cus they went for THE most cookie cutter, mainstream, typical, ill-defined, & flat out unsaturated(color), & OVERSATUATED(quantity), & basically jus borin style that ain't even remotely "unique" to anime specifically. I hate it but hopefully the backlash gets the movie to do better.
Also I adore Mushoku because of the struggle of someone who "doesn't deserve" bein rooted for but does wut they can to earn somethin for themselves no matter how far they've "fallen" & showcases compassion to the "losers" that lets be honest many anime fans can relate to to some degree. I also wanna state that the reason Rudeus is the way he is is CUS in his old world similar-ish to Denji he never got that "break" from a young age & it broke him to the point that even bein isekaied still didn't releive the trauma, pain, & regret. It's not like Denji is "clean" either. I jus feel they're both worth rootin for so I'd say still give a chance cus it goes over stuff that I haven't seen ANY media let alone anime go over & I've seen a lot. Cool vid

I don't think we disagree on any points here, If I had more time, I think I would have acknowledged all the things you mentioned. As for Rudeus, I do get it... but unlike Denji, he feels sorry for himself, something that Denji never does.

@@AnimeMangaFiles The point is he learns to not do that even now so he helps others around him in ways he didn't/couldn't allow in the old world. I don't necessarily think feelin sry for urself is "bad" it's more so the context around it that shapes somethin lke that. The base Idea makes it come off as "pathetic" at 1st but I feel in a situation where u're pushed beyond normal human limits especially as someone in like middle-school or somethin to the point u outright "regress" the argument that it's (I don't like usin this word) "justified" I feel could be brought up. I'm guna assume u read the manga based off the vid & remind u that part of the reason Denji is so "grateful" is cus he's in such a situation anyone would call incredibly "shitty" especially for his age basically makes him not find worth in himself especially cus of wut he did behind that door inside him. It's a large crux of wut makes the whole "girls want chainsawman not denji so use denji to get chainsawman" & Denji falls into almost everytime even now(even when he KNOWS). Even to me that side of him seems "admirable" since it comes from the fact that this situation forced him to be this way but there's a larger "negative" aspect at the heart that might make 1 think twice bout praisin it so much. Rudeus is so much more selfless & Denji struggles to find where he can be selfish enough. To him it backfires everytime in the worst way possible for him
