Living on the bottom floor of an 8 unit apartment complex, my place had the clean up access pipe outside next to the building. Whenever there was a blockage, the bit of water with everyone’s sewage rolled into my bathtub. I would wake up to the sounds of bubbles. They finally fixed the problem, which was pipes not running the correct direction somewhere in the pipe line. The building was 23 years old. I wonder how long it took before the the roots, grease, feline hygiene product and wipes blocked the pipe.
Sell no more baby wipes, use a cloth diaper like our grand parents did, wash it and re-install on the bairn. Soap powder. everyone use too much. Most treated water is medium-hard so the powder doesn't dissolve. Us a liquid soap and half of what the soap maker wants. Clothes will get just as clean. Narragansett Bay.
My partner and I both use baby wipes, but we both have bins in our bathrooms to dispose them in. They are far cheaper than makeup wipes and give a better clean than toilet paper. Anyone who dumps wipes of any kind in the loo needs to be fined. That'll sort it out quick.
Isn't that blockage on her property? I thought you were responsible for your sewer pipes on your own property and the council would only really care about the main sewers or am I missing something?
Perhaps where roads used to be, could be very old sewers I imagine, before the current houses were built, my grandfather had one in the middle of his front garden

Don’t underestimate experience and old age. They’ve been around long enough to see a bunch of dumb shit. Learn from those guys and pass the knowledge down. It’s the only way to keep a real trade like this going on.

Ahhh those wipes! Same here in the netherlands , sewage blockings and not to forget the wipes in the pressure sewage pumps...what a nightmare 😉
