    Great review Mr Dutch! It's good to see a heli - so few new ones these days. My shop now has maybe 3 or 4 when they used to have quite a few more. They are still fun and even though you spend time fixing, adjusting and working on them, you do the same w quads-cleanflight and all that comes with that.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir.. things have to be easier these days huh? True though.. fly one of these into a tree, and you'll be working on it for a while ;)
      I really really like the way heli's work & fly though :) I'm unsure what a FPV heli would be like by the way... what do you think? :)
      Cheers & thanks for stopping by!

      haven't tried it but it's been done I assume-probably a lot of vibration to deal with. Helis are very cool machines - I still really like the scale ones, but those are so rare now in a small size.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm good point.. vibes.. I'll have to strap a camera onto it..
      YES.. I allso very much like scale ones.. I've been looking for a nice scale one in the 450 class for quite a while..

      I have a Dynam Razer 450 and I agree, I find heli's fascinating in principle and operation. Blade tracking is essential for jello-free video. I have gone through many sets of rotor blades but still enjoy flying it. It's not relaxing like a floaty fixed wing plane and certainly a challenge. Thanks for the video. How cold is it over there these days?

    • @DutchRC

      The fun is in the chellenge of flying them, but yep.. you do go through 'some' parts ;)
      Hmm I think it was -5 to -10C here yesterday :$

    I can see there are a lot of guys that never learned how to fly a heli commenting on here. I have been flying mine for a year now,not that model but I understand their frustration of learning but like anything,it takes skill to learn how to fly one of these. Thats the main reason most guys bailed out. Yes parts break,thats part of this particular skill set. I enjoy flying my helicopter. I have all aluminum parts in mine,cnc machined. Like my brother says,they can be flying death comming straight after you . Flying a heli takes much more skill than flying quads,thats the reason most young people get out of it. Thanks for the review,I plan on getting one of these just for the fact I like flying any heli just for the challenge.

    • @scottfirman
      @scottfirman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They fly better in 3-D mode.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy Scott :)
      yes sir.. especially taking off & keeping it at the desired altitude is easier in collective pitch mode :) I did want to demonstrate the most basic mode of the heli, but from here on it will be CP :)
      I think there will be less & less people that make the effort to learn flying heli's.. Quads are sooo much easier.. And well.. we live in a fast & easy time huh? :)
      Thank You for stopping by again!

    I have the V977, V931, and the Hisky HCP100S/HK Assault100. This one looks to be the ideal next step at a reasonable price. As I already have a WLToys transmitter setup for heli's, and a module in my Taranis and 9XR that works with the WLToys protocol, I might just go for the BNF version, though that doesn't come with a battery and all my LiPo's have XT60's and not the mini Deans connector. Then again you can't have too many transmitters and bigger boxes are more satisfying to receive through the mail.
    Thank you for braving the cold weather to do the maiden flight.
    Regards
    Nidge.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah :) I think this one is slightly bigger then the ones you have? (allso a Bit better power 2 weight ratio I suspect) :)
      Hahaha well YES you Can have to manny transmitters :P I'd really like to just have 1 or 2 transmitters, but that won't work :)
      Thank You for stopping by offcourse! Yep.. this cold really held me back from really flying it :$ Ohw well.. better luck next time :)
      Cheers!

      Maybe, as they have done with the HiSky HCP100S and some of the WLToys helicopters, they may come out with replacement metal swashplates which will up the class of this helicopter. I believe it has a lot of potential.

      sputniksam What Heli do you recomment for someone looking to move up to a collective pitch heli. I saw the flight review on this and dont like it. I love the size, just dont care for it. Any suggestions? The smaller helis are harder for me to see so I need something about this size. Its in between the 400 and 200 size. I have the WL toys 913 Sky bus. It flys like a bus. lol. Yes it works, but whatever. lol

      :D :D It's funny how opinions can differ ;) Them wingtips are actually The reason I didn't get me a EFX v2 :P (ever seen a 'real' airplane with wingtips like that?).. I htink it's a horrible solution to a wing-design flaw :) (well 'flaw'.. I was quite pleased with the V1's performance really)

      DutchRC Adventures Wow, where did a year go? Just picked up an Align 450 brand new never flown. lots of extra parts too. Has metal flybar set up. Carbon fiber flybar paddles. Hey dutch, question. I havent any experience with collective pitch, only fixed. What heli do you recommend of the WL toys. I was told the 977 would work. What do you think?

    Hey Dutch! Very cool something different for sure. That original take off was a bit dicey. But it flies ok i'd say. Hey got some snow there. We got no snow and it's pretty mild here. still lots of winter to go yet so we'll see. I just scooped a v911 so I have my token heli too. It'll be interesting to see how this thing progresses as you learn the feel of it and see if you enjoy it as much. cheers buddy!

    WLtoys does make some good stuff. The V912 was a great 4 channel heli. This one does look promising...just wished they used metal servos. It reminds me of the Walkera Master CP I have-also plastic servos and brushed main and tail motor, but I did upgrade to metal and brushed main motor after a couple crashes due to plastic servo failure. The Master CP tail holds up well...hope the WLtoys holds up too. Can't wait for your full flight video with this heli.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This heli can indeed do with some upgrades.. That's o.k. at this price though I think? I haven't been able to find another RTF 3D heli at this $$ :$
      So far, so good though, eventhough I haven't had crashes yet ;)

  • @JaxTellerRC
    @JaxTellerRC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always liked flying helicopters, especially scale looking ones, theres just something "real" about them. The way they look and the way they sound. A lot of fun, but very flimsy and easy to break. This one is a lot like my JRC AS350 3D Heli.
    I like those Transmitters, I think it's great how you can change them from mode 1 to mode 2 with a switch.
    Great review mate, looks like a great chopper (0:

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy brother :) I think with the quads we have now, very few people will get into flying heli's.. A crash just results in utter missary with heli's :P There IS something special about them indeed though..

    I am looking for a first 3D heli. I got the XK K110 suggested and stumbled over your vid about the V950. Which of them would you suggest for a first 3D heli? Or is there another heli you would suggest?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd definatel;y go for this WLtoys one, eventhough I'm more a XK fan :P The V950 is a lot easier to keep track of because of it's size.. allso a bit more stable + can handle wind better because of it's size..
      And well.. it's not pricy which makes flying it more relaxing :)

  • @michaelmarkey6059

    seems to be nearly identical to the FX067c except that helicopter is fixed pitch and brushed. good review.i miss helis now that multi-rotors have eclipsed them.i don't think most people want to invest the time it takes to properly learn helis.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its definatly a 200 size helicopter. not 450 as a few have mistakenly thjough. It swings 205mm blades the same as the trex 250. a 450 swings 360mm blades.
    The naming system is a bit confusing and theres not much consistancy between manufactuers and even with the same manufacters things get weird between differnt models.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed man! I really wish this industry was a Bit more professional in that sense..

    • @vedasticks
      @vedasticks 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you get to testing 3d mode be carefull of the collective. alot ofusers have noted that its very jumpy on the collective. someone measured it and there was only 1.5 degrees of pitch change between 50% and 60% throttle and then all of a sudden it jumped to 3.5 degrees/
      I dunno if you have the updated version or original but alot of people have had servos burn out due to wires inside shorting out.
      I have a trex 250 but may get one of these as a gently flier and mild 3d machine. 15 minutes flight time is the big seller on these

    • @DutchRC

    Deze is nu in de aanbieding voor nog geen 105 euro voor de RTF versie.
    Alleen vandaag nog. Ik neig naar een impuls aankoop, maar zou je deze heli aanbevelen?
    Ik gebruikte een mcpx bl als oefen heli maar die is kapot (pcb/printplaat) en voor't geld van een nieuwe printplaat kan je zo'n beetje ook deze RTF heli kopen...

      tja.. het is de afgelopen weken niet echt heli-vlieg weer geweest helaas.. Hier in ieder geval niet :$

    • @BeetjeVreemd
      @BeetjeVreemd 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, als grotere heli hoop ik dit seizoen eindelijk met m'n 2e hands blade 400 3D aan de gang te kunnen, dat wordt m'n eerste "grote heli".
      Maar wil ook nog 'n "oefen/is geen ramp als je een keer crasht heli erbij". Denk dat ik deze aanbieding eerst links laat liggen, impuls aankoop is vaak niet handig ;) :). Als 2e (oefen)heli is een micro cp ook prima, en sowieso wel tof om een micro er bij te hebben. De WLtoys V977 RTF kost momenteel ook maar €89,45, en daar is iedereen positief over. Wel wat minder power dan m'n oude mcpx bl helaas, maar je kan niet alles hebben :)

    Dutch,,I like the way you are talking . smile from Norway .i loved helicopter sinse i was young. Butt the prices was way over my head. Now a days prices are reacheable for every body. I have vaisted alot og money in crappy hellis. This is a "Way Good helicopter" for the pr.PRICE.. You saw his first flight.. Hellli banked to the left. " First clule is to Spople up easy, step by step. Then you will see it will" Bank over to the left like this video"This mesnas go to the left like in the video.Trimm it like he done to the right" but just a bit as you see that the heli stabilase ..This HELICOPTER IS A BARGIN for the price.
    There ia a lot of crappy helicopter that seems to be cool cool but the problem is that the tail motor burns out in fwee week and you ha to replace it with a new motor.
    WLToys has made a helicopter that can handel crash. If you crash you ned a new mai gear cuse you didnt turn of the left stick to ZERO. Luccy you this a spare part in the box.
    This Fly way good for person new to helicopter.
    Notice: do like said,,,,, easy wind up and you vill see if it starts to lean ove to the right side or left side " we call it banking ti the side" follow this i promise you will be happy.
    Do you have any queastion

    I dont know why but putting toys on the end your brand name just makes me think not hobby grade its putting me off buying it

      Howdy sir :) ghehe yes I DO agree.. bare in mind though, that Most RC's are essentially that.. Toys :)
      I don't know a lot of people that 'use' them professionally..

    • @mattinwinkymg
      @mattinwinkymg 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well howdy to you friend I'm thinking along the lines of parts support which toys don't have and hobby grade rc do but yes they are big boys "toys"

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Halloa :)
      well yes.. parts Are available for it, the main attraction (for me) though is it's low cost.. that really makes flying it quite a bit more relaxing..
      Will it take a hit? well nope :P ghehe Mine is still fine, but I Know a crash will have me ordering up parts :)

      mattinwinkymg , my friend , I was also concerned about the name wltoys , kind of kiddie ish, anyways I have a fleet of rc heli, my top is my align T-Rex down to syma 109 3 channel , I love them all , I'm a retired a/c mech and I have nothing but time on my hands , which I spend a lot of time flying , I have over 26 heli alone , point is I have almost all the wltoy brand, they never ever have failed me held up to all my abuse when learning to fly , I've gotten good at it and hardly ever crash , so I took the plunge and bought the V950, all in all it is a great helicopter , I have over 50 flights on my first one , never crashed it , and still still still flys great , prob the better flying in my fleet , I bought a lot of spare parts that I have yet to use, take the plunge , buy it , I promise you won't have any regrets , one thing I did find a little off is the yo yo action you will get when doing hard launch straight up , you will see , the way I corrected this is to hit the down throttle trim button 6 to 8 times and it will smooth this yo yo action out , once you learn the ac habits better you'll figure it all out , in my minds eye it is a very good ac , hands down , I now have two of them because the price is rite and I fly the life out of them , like a old time x watch , keeps on ticking , good luck

    One will need quite a few spare parts to repair this bird with as it's pretty fragile. Doesn't take crashes well...even mild ones. However, it's cheap and spares are reasonable. Don't think one can find a RTF heli of this size for the same price.

      Hue.. I missed that topic.. Thanks man!
      And yeah.. that is true for most heli's, but with all the plastics on this one, things will indeed brake.. I'm looking forward to some allu upgrades as WLtoys released for their other heli's :)

    This is a 3D helicopter.... are you new to this do not think... about stunt in 3D. Hold your Remote in front of you . On the right side close to you have a circle of buttons up, down, left ,right...... the one on the right side shows 3D vs 6axis.
    REMEMBER to flip up switch in front of to your left hand towards you and put on hold switch..right hand switch in front

      Thank you for taking the time to explain!
      I must say I am not much of a 3D helicopter pilot myself.. Not that I can't do it, and I can easily fly heli's.. But yeah.. I think I just don't fly heli's enough to become really good at it :)
