I agree with your thoughts on why the fountain pen/pens is such a great hobby. Having a fountain pen makes you want to write or be creative and that creativity is not purchased rather it comes from oneself. Thank you for you for sharing your thoughts on the pros of having a fountain pen.
Thank you for watching! Glad to hear that others share my sentiments!
I loved your video today and I have some of the same reasons. Another experience that I absolutely love with Fountain Pens and Inks is swatching in so many different ways on a variety of different papers. And I also love the process of cleaning a pen and changing its ink. While I don't have anybody irl who loves fountain pens like I do, the community online is absolutely fantastic, sharing their hauls and treasures, giving advice and support 🙂
I also love cleaning pens! Not many do but I love it! The online community is amazing and I am thankful for social media for that.
what a lovely sentiment Karyna, I agree that this hobby is great for all the right reasons, and yes we may get caught up with wanting to buy too many pens and inks, but we do then also reach that maturity when we understand what we like in a pen and can kinda relax into the hobby. Thank you for being part of this lovely community and sharing your journey with us.
Thanks Katie!! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. You are a valued part of this fountain pen community.
Good morning Karyna!
I agree with you on pretty much every point you highlighted as to why you enjoy this hobby. I have never drawn with my fountain pens on purpose, but I have doodled while writing from time to time.
While many people take notes electronically I am sitting there with my vanishing point and note book writing away. It helps me be more engaged, take better ownership of the material, and really helps with content recall.
I have never used my inks to paint and that isn’t something I’m good at. But I have seen some incredible work from those who possess that skill and use fountain pen ink.
The community is amazing. I have never been to a show, but a crew at a brick and mortar retailer that I frequent have become good friends. I have also run into many random people who also enjoy the hobby and have had opportunities to have fun conversations with them about it. I have made new friends that I know get to share my pens and inks with. Having a chance to have fun conversations with them in the process.
Nothing cheesy about it.
Have an amazing day!!
Thank you so much for your comment! I have recently learned that I am an auditory as well as tactile learner, so writing can help me with retaining information. But also helps keep me engaged!
I love that inks can have so many different uses, not just for writing.
And this community has been amazing. I have met so many wonderful people both online and in person and I am so grateful for everyone!
That was lovely! The community is the true reason I continue to enjoy this hobby, even when I can't afford to buy pens!
Thank you Shauna! I love our community and how we can spend hours chatting about inks and pens!
I am still so new to this hobby but the joy it has given me these last couple of months is undeniable. From watching videos of different creators like yourself and many others to actually using my pens or buying a new one or pen accessory has a made made a much needed impact on me that I know will be a part of me for a very long time to come.
I'm so glad to hear this. Thanks for sharing!
Whole heartedly agree with your statements. I love to collect not necessarily pens but unique writing experiences.
Yes to this!
Not me tearing up at the community 😊- fountain pen people are truly the best people.
I love (and fully agree with) your list!
Hope you and I get to meet one day in person, Julia!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan I would so love that!! 💕
What. You. Said!
Great people in the fountain pen & planner communities!
Great video!
Thank you Tina! 🥰
What a great video, Karina, full of gratitude! Thanks for being here and thank you for sharing this with us all! 😌
Thank you so much! 🥰
Thanks for the wonderful video, you said it very completely. I also find it relaxing to journal and write Morning Pages so much so, that I look forward to using my ✒️ every day.
I love that - it makes journaling more enjoyable rather than a chore.
This is such a great way to share what is beyond the consumerism of fountain pens and how to enjoy your pens not just collect them. 🤗
Yes I agree! Thanks for watching!
Wonderful video essay! Thank you for sharing this!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Beautiful video and I wholeheartedly agree with your reasoning.😊
Yay, thank you! This was definitely different for me but I wanted to share.
A lovely video…. Spot on! ❤
My thoughts exactly 💜
Thank you so much! 🥰
Thanks for this, Karyna! I’m a total newbie to this hobby. There’s a part of me that doesn’t understand it (multiple pens and inks) but I WANT to understand it. Your heartwarming video has helped me to understand! Thanks for all your videos. I love them and I find them interesting and inspiring!!!
I love this. Just because we don’t understand something does not mean we don’t want to learn about it. I am so glad this has helped! Thank you! 🥰
Your video & thoughts are truly lovely, Karyna. I think you've voiced how most of us feel. Thank you 💜💜💜
I'm so glad! 🥰🥰🥰
I agree with many of these reasons. I think journaling is the biggest one for me. I've tried journaling and memory keeping so many times before but never really stuck with it very long. Now that it's such a fun way to use my pens, I'm able to enjoy it consistently every day.
Thank you for sharing, Heather! I love hearing how journaling has become more consistent for you because of your pens!
I learnt to write using a fountain pen and totally loved the experience. That faded with all the new types of pens that came out over the years (my family are pen and paper fetishists! 🤣), but something drew me back about 8 years ago when I was trying to hunt down a part for an old Parker pen. What I found truly amazed me, a whole ‘new world’ of FP enthusiasts, pens, inks and paper and oh my, have I explored greatly and fallen head-over-heels in love again. Just looking at my pens and inks brings a smile to my face and lifts my heart, no matter what kind of day I’m having. Thank you Universe for the people who create these gorgeous treasures and for helping us to share our passion in such an enthusiastic, kind and gentle manner. 🖌️🥰
Oh my goodness, I love this! Thank you for sharing both of your experiences.
Best video ever. I just bought my daughter her first fountain pen, and she will use it for school at home with me. I will have her watch your video, too.
Aww I love that! Thank you for sharing!
The insatiable longing for fountain pens and the continuous purchasing of the “latest, specials, and limited” fall short of lasting satisfaction, which is why I’d write “community” first on my list. Whether it’s a virtual group, pen shows, or one other fountain pen friend-enthusiast, the sharing and learning are a deep wellspring of enthusiasm and wonder. Plus If one is already a writer, an artist, and a creative, these beautiful portable companions of fountain pens, inks, and quality paper, are truly magical gifts of never-ending joy.
@@KobeLincoln-us3uu this list was in no particular order and one is not more important than another. Regardless of when I wrote community, it’s still important. It’s great we can find so much joy in this hobby.
I'm so grateful for all the friends I've made and all the ink sharing I've been able to do! It's so much fun and y'all are the most generous people out there- including you. Thanks for being my friend for what, 7 or so years now, Karyna?
Has it been SEVEN years?!?! First the planner community, the ups and downs with HP, and now fountain pens! 🥰
@@KarynaLovesToPlan maybe! I started my account in 2017 so I can’t remember when we met!
Uh. Virtually met? Haha

Watercolor and fountain pens is exactly why I started my own channel! I make my own watercolor paint too and I’ve enjoyed and have been collecting fountain pens for years. It has given me a lot of therapeutic and life enriching experiences ❤
Going to check out your channel now!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan This means so much, thank you ❤️ My channel is brand new but I’m building it up :)
Such a sweet video!!!! I too have met some great people and enjoy the annual pen show. Hope to travel to PNW & SF pen show one day. Karyna I started following you on YT from Happy Planner days. I can’t believe how much I’ve grown since then. I’m so happy to have found the fountain pen community.❤
Thank you Darlene! Wow you have been with me a while and I appreciate you sticking with me!
Beautiful and so inspired 💖
Thank you so much!
Indeed my grammar is sub par I’m a rig welder hahaha. That said I hope you have a great rest of your weekend too!

Rig wielder is a tough job! I did not mean for my comment to be rude, either. Thanks Dean!
Loveeee this!
Thank you Amy!
Who’s cutting onions. 😂 #6. I love it. I love this video. ❤❤
😭 aww. I’m not crying!
A very joyful video.
Thank you! 🥰
I feel the same and agree with what you said!
Thank you so much! 🥰
I came to the pen hobby through my zentangle hobby.
Love this! I found zentangle through fountain pens! 🥰
❤
🥰
I have similar reasons. ❤
😊😊😊
I apologize if that was a rude comment. It wasn’t meant to be. Your videos are pretty cool. We both live in Edmonton. Well I’m actually just north of Edmonton in St. Albert. Have you checked out the selection that “Stylus fine pens” has on wyte avenue?
@@deansullivan6418 hi Dean! Thank you for replying and clarifying. I appreciate that. I haven’t been to Stylus in a few months but hope to go in the next couple of weeks. They are lovely there!

So is the m800 worth it you think? I was looking at the “Namiki Emperor in Vermillion, man that’s deadly !
💙
Fine*
I think mine is the smaller version? I’m not too certain.
No you haven’t been. I’m more than likely the only welder I know that enjoys dine writing instruments. Currently I use a Sailor 1911 in yellow. I very much like it !
Nah I don't think so! And if you ask about hobbies, I'm sure there would be a few who would surprise you. How do you like the size of the 1911? Do you prefer the S or the L?
now i am in it and its an expensive hobny 😢
Yes it can get a bit expensive, like most hobbies!
