I know exactly how Paula feels. 1 month shy of 7 years together, my partner told me that he had only been with me for money and a car. He stated that I was an easy, understanding companion and never shouted or acted mean to him so it was easier to use me. He only admitted this when I cornered him with an ultimatum to commit to me or I was leaving him. I left 3 years ago and couldn’t be happier. I hope she found happiness in her life.

Tim is a narcissist. He had no feelings while telling her and was totally unable to empathize with her feelings. Then he said he’s going to look for someone else with money. She was better off without him. I’m sure she looks back today and is relieved.

I used to like Merv Griffin. It was more thoughtful, less faked and exaggerated drama, no scouring the earth for the skankiest people imaginable! Sally falls in the middle, not as intellectual as Merv or Donahue, not crazy as Jerry Springer. I admit to liking Dr. Phil, even if it’s so predictable. Oprah? Okay. It wasn’t strictly a talk show, more like variety, but I almost never missed Letterman. He had a lot of great bands on the show. I’m from NY, so maybe that makes me biased.

I remember an update show Sally did all these years later. Tim came back on the show and Sally told him Paula had suffered a nervous breakdown when she got home. He showed no remorse over that news. All these years later I still remember that.

Not everyone! I don’t bother with TV or today’s celebrities. Later today, I’m getting Sally Jessy’s hairstyle on this show. I’ll have to show it to the stylist because she wasn’t even born yet when the show ran. She’s gonna say, “Sally, who?”
My clothing style is “eclectic.” I wear items from different time periods, whatever matches my mood or for a particular occasion. I mix and match a lot. It’s fun. It gives me a unique, but not weird (imo) look. I get a lot of compliments, especially from people much younger than myself.

This episode aired back in November 1995. I remember this episode very well, Tim is a p.o.s and doesn't deserve to be happy. Update: After this show Paula suffered a mental breakdown, the irony is that Tim later expressed on an update show by not feeling responsible. Newsflash asshole, you're totally responsible. Marrying someone and using her cause of her trustfund is just plain wrong. Tim makes me sick.

Agree! Just awful, not at all complimentary to her features. That’s the key to looking great. It doesn’t matter how popular any fashion trend. If it doesn’t look good on you, do not wear it! If a trend from the past looks great, wear that, maybe with updated accessories. All that baby pink on an obese woman with too much makeup and a bad red dye job! She should have been on one of the makeover shows!
Those huge shoulder pads were horrible on most women. They made us look like fullbacks on a football team. I used to immediately remove them from my clothing and reuse them for sponges or polishing shoes.

It sure could be a traumatic experience for one or both of them.
I think that is why I made my comment, because of the uncertainty of it, because it did not feel right to me, and I don’t like when people want or need to go on tv to look for another person to be friends with and to spend time with, to see if maybe there is more.
That is why I said that Sally should not have put those 2 together to have them meet as friends or whatever.
Both people are bringing their past to the show, and I do believe its good to talk about things, but that is not the place to do it.
I dont want to know anyones issues. I dont want an audience of strangers or friends and relatives to know my business, maybe only a few. Lol.
Its an entertainment show. I wouldnt want help and advice from that setting. haaa haaa. Lol.

This ole show was good yrs ago, so to put 2 people together was different then, compared to how people value others today, but mostly how people value themselves first are much different these days. Imo.
I realize people go to professionals to find a friend or that true, honest, and loving person to share life with. If they have tried every other way, i say go for it. I dont think that people should go on a show to find friendship and / or love, because it could be more scripted, and then there are time restraints, and other interruptions. I realize it takes yrs to know a person, but IF a person is true, honest, has a loving heart, and loves GOD, then the signs should be there during those first few magical moments, no matter where the setting is, so it could happen on TV, but I felt that sally should have been skeptical and thought twice about getting those 2 together for a friendship.
But, like i said before, if people want to go on tv, its their decisions, but I just hope they tried other and better avenues first, like asking and trusting GOD.
If GOD put her on the Sally show then who am i to say anything. It didnt feel like it was GOD at work because of that bad feeling i had when i watched this.
I don't want to watch this whole show again, but i should just go to their meeting and see if i feel different now than before, but probably not, ❤.

Sitting on a stage in front of an audience and being on tv can affect a persons true identity and feelings, because I often wonder if that is why a person is crying harder or laughing more, and how real or fake is it. I dont mean to say its fake, coz it mite be, but probly not.
I personally dont go looking for friendships and love, because my thoughts are, when i meet that special someone to help, get help, to be friends or for love, then for me its a natural instinct effect, and I will know then if I that is someone can be in my life for whatever the reasons might, can or will be.
I hope that the woman sees my true colors at that very first moment, because that is what I look for and want to see in her.
