Thanks Ed, for this beautiful video! Romania has suffered many years from being presented only in a bad light, it's so refreshing to see it being discovered by many, for the many awesome things it also has to offer. Cheers and see you soon! 😊
If I just make a list of pros/cons of living here the pros dramatically outweigh the cons, I'm always surprised how others don't see what I see but I there it is. I try to be objective and realistic and it's a great pleasure engaging with all the people who reach out about our various projects.
As a Romanian who came back to the country 4 years ago and now building a small business I love this Chanel and I share it with my family and friends who still live abroad. Thanks for your great work❤
so i moved here in 2001 and it took me some years to identify that sense of freedom and the source of it, many other westerners i talk to experience the same thing but struggle to identify what it actually is caused by
There are also native Romanians who are watching. There is a group like me who cannot afford to return. Left in 1990 and was a rocket star in nyc owning a vertically integrated textile plant. Then Bush, the 2nd cut the Acrylic import taxes from China, and the entire domestic industry got wiped out. Moved on to real estate/design build but lost everything in 2008. I am now 53, broke and can't go back a 'failure', so I am stuck here in US trying to put together a plan.
Maybe Trump can turn it around and has a better plan for the US economy than Sleepy Joe. Lower taxes, cutting irrational government spending, tariffs, cutting regulations, etc can create significant economic activity. You just have to figure out what people are looking for, are willing to buy and how you can give it to them better than others. Speranta moare ultima.
Success in life is not measured only in money, and from the sound of it, you do have a very rich life experience. We all have our regrets, but it is what it is, and all we can do is just keep moving forward! Cheers and good luck! 😊
Coming back a so called failure is only a mindset and a narrow one. It's easy to say and harder to practise but if you can disregard what others think then you probably are free and have enough to return and start a new chapter of life. I am close to 50 and I moved our family here from Australia. There's very much to still enjoy out of your life ❤️
I'm moving back to Romania after 15 years of living in the UK. It's caught up so much with the West to the point where many Romanians living abroad feel like the net income gap can no longer justify us being away from our families and our homeland. Your hard work is greatly appreciated, Sir🫡
We are coming to Romania next June in our campervan and intend having a month or more. Not sure what to expect? But your channel certainly helps. Thank you.
@randomromania thank you for that, we may take you up on it :-) people we have met who come from and have visited Romania tell us to visit soon , before it changes ? Some parts have all ready been changed by tourism so we hope to catch a glimpse of the old original Romania before it to is discovered by the masses...
You've been living here since 2001, eh? You've got bollox, I'll give you that! At that time romanians were starting to flee Romania for greener pastures hungry for the civilized world. You're a romanian OG now! Respect! 😅
I was already used to working for myself since my early 20s so Romania seemed then and still seems now to be the land of opportunity, I guess most places are what you make of them.
Wouldn’t care if they did or not. Good people with a good heart, loving our countryside are always welcome. Of course it helps to know a few basic sentences like “Aveti vin?” Haha Enjoy your time there.😊
