In my opinion the “boring” stuff isn’t boring because i get to see another person with a similar rank go through the same thing i went through, and with a different perspective
I was going to say the same thing, but it's good to go over all the ground mechanics, breaking them down helps anyone who may have missed any steps and always good to refresh

This series is fantastic! And the way cbell teaches him is basically a free coaching session for us too and I’m so glad he is telling hard things now and is also focusing on mechs and not making him go all in on positionings
Gonna be honest, I'm a big fan of game sense over mechanics, but below D3/C1.... If you're solo queueing?.... It's a crap shoot. Just train to carry with mechanics until you're at least high diamond while trying not to suck with game sense 🤣🤣🤣

I love how you're filming the process, not only is it helping ray, but this indirectly provides a nice guide for other low rank players (with first hand viewing of another player of their caliber get better) to learn and grow.
I believe this series has the potential to be one of the most watched rocket league series, especially for this struggling to learn and those wanting to learn what’s required to rank up. The problem is your leaving stuff out that you should put in, cause it’s one thing to try to learn from a video on TH-cam from someone who has mastered a skill, but learning while you watch someone else learn is ALOT more helpful. I think you need to get footage of him doing the training routines for each skill so others can see someone like them doing it and then get footage of him doing the same training routine after he has learned the skill so they can see the progress and what it can do for them. You can help so many people struggling, me included!
You don't need to apologize for the videos being boring. I feel like a lot of us watching like improvement and watching Ray reminds us all of our own growth in this game. And for the lower ranks its providing coaching and inspiration. As long as you and Ray stay motivated to continue on this path we're gonna be stoked to watch it

This is the most interesting RL content ever!!! The time you are both putting into this is going to be so worth it! Very refreshing to see this, I feel like it will really help a ton of newer players as well.
For some reason it feels nostalgic to see someone learn the basics. A great reminder that we all started there and put in the hours to get better. This series makes me pretty proud of where i got in this game because i remember sitting in a private match with my friend foe literally hours every day and just try to hit the ball or try to fly for 10 seconds without losing control. I love the content keep it up!
So i think this is awesome. There are a lot of us just like Ray. I want to touch on something you said about forgetting to break down the moves on a super basic level because it's easy for you. A lot of guys do this and it kinda sucks. Personally, I need to have it broken down and I wish you would make more videos on breaking down the mechanics of what seem like an easy shot to you but are super difficult for beginners like me and Ray. Good job with this one as it gave me something else to practice and the mechanic break down was super helpful. Also this is far from boring. Maybe for higher ranking players but for the most part they are not the ones watching this. Cater towards the mechanically challenged please. We need help.
Really good series, makes it relevant for (almost) every rank when we get to that rank. Teaching that ball cam is more important than car cam would be a good tip to master early on as well, but keep it going!
Next episode I’d like to see more gameplay of Ray so we can get a better understanding of what his skill level and positioning actually looks like. I enjoy the training videos but think they could get stale after awhile. I’d like to see every episode of this be slightly different. Other than that love the series man! Very unique idea

7:11 I like when he corrects him on the 8° haha - tip for people that don’t find that intuitive - if you know 45° is half of 90 and what that looks like, you should know what 3 3rds of 45° look like being 15° wedges. Half that 15° again and you should be able to visually approximate the angle of approach Ray is referring to. Keep working on it and its as easy as simple arithmetic for some.
Never too early to learn the air dribble. I learned it in gold as well. Though it won’t be very helpful in game until about diamond, it really helps set up a solid base of mechanics. Keep up the good work ray!
This really is not boring, I think a lot of low rank players other than Ray can alo learn based off this video. And it is also fun to watch Ray develop
1:05 can I just say that, that style of learning when to press the buttons has a lot of potential, and would be a great way to learn mechanics! Amost like a guitar hero approach to learning timing and when to press buttons.

I am leaving a comment to boost the algorithm bc I want ray to succeed in his journey! Love seeing ppl start from the basics reminds us of our humble beginnings :)
If you nail down basics of aerials and air dribbles early, it'll set you up for success later. "Just don't do for it all the time in game". Love this series.
Cbell! Really, this is tbh the series I need! I’ve been stuck in play for idk how long, actually I was just about to quit the game because I got tired of not seeing progress in my game but this actually made me wanna try again and work for it again, so thanks for doing this!👏🏻🙏🏼
Do you think i should try and make myself worse and then quit for a while after losing muscle memory making me play worse so I can then speed run to gc and try get up higher with little mechanics just to see how high I can get without any mechanics and then try and relearn advanced mechanics but would first relearn the basics of each mechanic I learn for a few days before fully going at it
It's no joke how important it is to get the fundamentals down early. I still struggle with jumping off the wall in GC1, I wish I had focused on these mechanics when I was learning. I've yet to be bored in this series, keep up on pointing out the fundamentals!
Man what perfect timing i just started rocket league last week and just starting to peak early plat so this is pretty much a step by step tutorial for me now haha!

this is probably one of the best series ideas. Im sure people have thought of this idea, but it hast been done this good. thank you cbell
if i had a teacher in gold like you i would be gc right now. You are a very good teacher and Ray is so nice and will get a very good player
This really is not boring, I think a lot of low rank players other than Ray can alo learn based off this video. And it is also fun to watch Ray develop
His car designs, wow it's so good and so clean
Thanks. I'm amazed at all of the comments about the cars. I have plenty and will try to switch it up.
@@raypreston35 You definitely will get gc man
1:05 can I just say that, that style of learning when to press the buttons has a lot of potential, and would be a great way to learn mechanics! Amost like a guitar hero approach to learning timing and when to press buttons.
this is the best rl content ever
As a high GC3 / Low SSL I can confirm that both CBell and Ray are doing an incredible job. It even helps me realise as well how important the basics are so this makes me want to improve on basics more than the fancy flip resets 😅 keep it up guys I love this content.
I’ve been stuck in play for idk how long, actually I was just about to quit the game because I got tired of not seeing progress in my game but this actually made me wanna try again and work for it again, so thanks for doing this!👏🏻🙏🏼
Do you think i should try and make myself worse and then quit for a while after losing muscle memory making me play worse so I can then speed run to gc and try get up higher with little mechanics just to see how high I can get without any mechanics and then try and relearn advanced mechanics but would first relearn the basics of each mechanic I learn for a few days before fully going at it
I cba with ranked anymore it stresses me out too much
A video series like this is exactly what Rocket league needs. I'm a diamond learning a lot from this gold.
That break down if the fast aerial was insane. Cool. This is perfect. Exactly what I’ve needed
love the series. this is so good because everyone sees now how much progression through the ranks are in reality
It's no joke how important it is to get the fundamentals down early. I still struggle with jumping off the wall in GC1, I wish I had focused on these mechanics when I was learning. I've yet to be bored in this series, keep up on pointing out the fundamentals!
Ray is trash
Thank you for doing this. I am a bronze/silver player. I have played with my son through pandemic. I hope to learn a lot. Ray is a fast learner!
Way to go Ray! And CBell, keep the boring stuff in, so many of us lower level people are going to try and use the tips and tricks to learn better
This has been enlightening as I have trouble with jumping off the wall. I’m a diamond so I really need to learn it.
One of the most creative series I’ve seen from a rocket league ytber keep it up! Congrats on 700k!
I love this, a dad is trying to play with his kid and he wants to learn more about the game so he can keep it fun. just an amazing vid good stuff
Man this guy seems so nice and he’s actually kinda crazy, great series, great coaching and a great choice of player!
honestly been waiting for someone to do this type of series so glad you're doing it.
if i had the same chance as ray i would be so much better. really love to see that he has gotten better and can't wait until the next video
Man what perfect timing i just started rocket league last week and just starting to peak early plat so this is pretty much a step by step tutorial for me now haha!
This is a great series, it brings back memories of my initial struggles with the game and it makes me feel happy to see how far I have gotten.
Amazing series man, gotta respect a man with an idea that is executed beautifully, along with a passionate man who wants to improve
This is exactly what a 'road to ...' series should be like. And koudos to you for the commitment. Can you ask , each week, how many hours have you spent training, and what. Now as he gets to high plat I can reason the same things in parallel and hopefully do some ranking up. Let's go.
The stuff that you say is boring actually helps me in game when I watch your videos it inspires me to play again
This series is the most fan service ive seen in my life 😍 lovin it
this is great coaching im understanding so much more than other training vids . you give great encouragement and are so patient good job cbell and ray
Keep this series going genuinely entertaining to see ray improve
I love this series and it is so wholesome and shows how truly amazing this community can be
