So beautiful. Love you Cat
What a woman what an artist
very very magic cover...................................... thank you Cat
I've loved this song for years, and loved Cat Power for years, why am I only finding this now! Think I prefer this version, I find her more soulful....
you know, I thought I was the only one who thought that it sounded like something else.. I've fallen so deeply in love with this version of 'breathless' that I'd forgotten, but I never figured out what it was.
Absolutely beautiful cover of Nick
I love Cat Power, I love Nick Cave. This cover is gorgeous. It takes me back to that floating beauty of a Mazzy Star song that I also loved so much.
her voice is so beautiful and soothing it reminds of whenever I think of or see my lovely girlfriend. calm and content with my life.
Yes... Cave covered by Cat turned out to be something quite beautiful! Both versions are just so right!
Can't stop listening!
beautiful, thank you for sharing this!
shes an amazing performer!!
Great version of this song! Thanks for posting.
LOVE YOU CAT!!! MY DECEASED GIRLFRIEND ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOU!!! I DO AS WELL. CAN YOU MAKE A STOP IN SANTA CRUZ, CA? MAYBE AT THE CATALYST OR AT THE CREPE PLACE? It would be VERY AWESOME and warm my heart!
Oh my god i love nick cave and i love cat power. this is perfect
Quite beautiful. Still, I prefer the joyousness of the original.
Jason, REALLY!, bleed? come on. Both Cave and Marshall are BLISS.
nice ever little day's in songs
Meooow xxx
Had a weird thought while listening to this... It would be a nice mash-up with "Everything about you" by Ugly kid Joe...
She is a Goddess, Nick Cave is GOD.
Lol! She's hugging Hendrix at 1:09 xD

Nick Cave version makes my ears bleed. This version is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard
@ElricoKing Ok, I started to learn English just in September, so I don't speak English well. My english grammar is yet terrible.
Viszont inkább megértik TH-cam-on a kommentjeimet hibás angol nyelvtannal, mint magyarul.
This song is about the God thing, isn't it? That's what I hear when I hear it. Beautiful (and I'm not talking about the God claimed by any one religion, because I don't believe in that God).
I'm a huge fan of the original version, and this one has had all the joy sucked out of it :(
Beautiful song, but for some reason, I hear some Christian connations in the song.
But I'd rather believe that this is a love song, although Chan could really nail the gospel (no pun intended).
Cat Power is great but this is sleep inducing.
Totally and completely disagree. If you can't hear the beauty in both, then you don't hear too well.
Added 10 years ago and only 498 likes? this world is doomed.
Very unlikely, considering that Nick Cave, who wrote the song, is an atheist.
It's a simple love song.
That view is outdated,
In the past, Cave identified as a Christian. In his recorded lectures on music and songwriting, he has claimed that any true love song is a song for God and has ascribed the mellowing of his music to a shift in focus from the Old to the New Testaments. He does not belong to a particular denomination and has distanced himself from "religion as being an American thing, in which the name of God has been hijacked".[1] He said in a Los Angeles Times article: "I'm not religious, and I'm not a Christian, but I do reserve the right to believe in the possibility of a god. It's kind of defending the indefensible, though; I'm critical of what religions are becoming, the more destructive they're becoming. But I think as an artist, particularly, it's a necessary part of what I do, that there is some divine element going on within my songs."[2]

He was more religious when he used more drugs.
Cat > Cave
I don't like this version. The original is more better
Hope you will not mind if I tell you that "more better" is not good English - "much better" is better! I'm not sure if your first language is Hungarian, but anyhow you are doing very well so far, I realize English is a crazy language to many foreign learners.
