      @@tonip879 the original dragon I got during covid pandemic was to help out someone thar had gotten overwhelmed with their bearded dragon. I have never owned a reptile until the end of 2020 so like 2 years and I posted a video asking some how to questions and I then found out how amazing they are. And that dragons name was chuck norriz, sadly chuck passed and that's why C.J. is named cj for chuck Jr. If she was a guy but she is a she so cj still fits and now with the channel growing I keep adding rescue bearded dragons. Lieutenant Dan was rescued from the pet store and he had a tail that was messed up from another Dragon inside his cage and he was very malnourished so I rescued him from the pet store and they gave them to me for half price he is now doing amazing and I've only had Lieutenant Dan home for about 2 months feel free to ask any questions sorry if I don't get back to him right away lot of people write. Thanks

    Bearded dragon owner here for context but dragons do not always require assistance with shedding but this does not hurt the animal and in some cases it can make them feel a lot more comfortable in their habitat

      I'm sure it feels good, once they recognize he's just helping out. - Like having scratches or pets.
      They've outgrown the skin, so it would feel restrictive... maybe itchy, too.

    • @amandamarary1185
      @amandamarary1185 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@suet.r.4815 Of course it's itchy!! Ever seen a beardie irritated cuz of shed? They puff up, inflate their beard and open their mouth!! Old shed is clearly uncomfortable for beardies and other reptiles and this wonderful gentleman is saving them from scratching their eyes out and causing other injuries cuz bottom line is captive beardies require shed assistance!! And as far as wild beardies their life expectancy is much lower than captive beardies and wild beardies suffer sooooo much more overall than the captive ones.

    • @ChuckNorrizBeardedDragons
      @ChuckNorrizBeardedDragons  ปีที่แล้ว +26

      No problem and they dont "need" assistance per se. on the other side it helps to expedite a very arduous time in their life. If left to shed all on their own accord it will be a couple weeks too over a month of struggling to get the shed off. So if I can help and also make a few $ to help with the cost of habitat and lights i will make a fun video. Best analogy of this would be like shearing a sheep. It helps the sheep and the farmer makes money to raise them by selling the wool.... Have a Rad holiday .

    • @cwinnett08
      @cwinnett08 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, they don't. You can actually damage their skin by doing this. If the shed is stuck, it shouldn't be pulled off. A nice warm soak should help. If the shed is constantly getting stuck, then you need to check your humidity. Hope this helps.

      how old is the dragon? But I would pay attention to how much he eats and even if it is a pain in the butt let him get a tastefor fruits and veggies. As he gets older his diet will switch from mainly bugs to mainly greens, vegetables, and a little fruit and bugs. As a juvenile they will not have a taste for this so if he wont eat it. Try making a sauce to dip the greens in out of BEE POLLEN. lmk if you have any other questions

    I was wondering if you let them have their shed to eat.
    They "recycle" the calcium, phosphorus, other minerals and protiens in the shed skin, don't they?
    - - Not that I think for a second that you would fail to provide them with the nutrients they need to be healthy, with or without the shed skin... just wondering.
    Also... is there any reason you couldn't or shouldn't let them have the skin?
    Such as a rescue with questionable care, or disease, or parasites?

    • @ChuckNorrizBeardedDragons
      @ChuckNorrizBeardedDragons  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @ChuckNorrizBeardedDragon That makes sense. I didn't think of that, although I did think that "cleaning it up" might defend/protect against microorganisms that cause or encourage infections that might affect the live animal.
      So... Do you throw it out or something? (some people save them and even craft with them, I guess)?
