    I own a 2015 F56 Cooper S and it has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever had. Bought the car new and I’m pushing almost 70K miles

    BMW has made the most of a name which its British originator ran into the dust. Yes it's quite big now but it's Mini in comparison with other SUV type vehicles. It isn't huge or really big... It's a Mini SUV .... Gee how many more reviews have to keep repeating that it's bigger than the original mini .... Nobody wants a crude noisy biscuit tin that comes from the factory with rust anymore; that was only exciting in 1959 when it re-defined small car design ... oh sure it's a nostalgic memory of the mini everybody drove way back when... But does anybody really want that when it has to compare with any number of sophisticated smallish cars. I guess if you don't like it you won't buy it, there's plenty of choice. But please get over the size.... We all know it's bigger than it ancestor.

    Nathan is one of my favorite reviewers on TFL but when you combine his soft speaking voice and loud music I end up turning up the volume to hear him and way back down because the music is way too loud. TFL editors need to figure this out!!

    • @maliciwilliams7463
      @maliciwilliams7463 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, Nathan to me is a lil more relatable. Even thought tfl and other car review pages & reviewers aren’t very Diverse..

      @FrankySilverFace 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The editors are better than they were but still not where they need to be. The ratio between voice and music was way worse in the early days.

    The countryman Cooper S is nice, solidly put together, surprisingly so. Also a nice quiet cabin when on road.

    mini should really work on reliability if they wanna charge $45,000+ for a compact size car. I know a lot of people here in NY that bought a Carola and some Elantra's after their mini because of the ownership experience with the mini. They miss their mini but they are still not buying another one.

    I agree with Nathan to a point, yet the caveat is, that the name Mini has unfortunately evolved from an actual meaning in the sixties, to just a brand today. Though the Countryman shares the platform with the Cooper, it's still a Mini underneath, though bulked up a bit. Quite...a bit.

    BUT,...I'd love to have one,....to go along with my 'play toy' 2010 Mini Cooper Convertible. They are a fun car to drive,.I agree with Nathan here 100 percent.
    ( in fact I agree with Nathan in all he's said in this video.)

    I own a 2017.5 which is the new body style. I opted for the tricked out black on black everything countryman S. It’s fast as hell but very delicate. So far the transmission has had technical issues twice, but the dealer did fix it with no problems. I find it when you’re driving this car for a long period time it’s very uncomfortable. So after a year and a half I decided to trade my car only to find out that my $37,000 car is only worth $21,000. Ps. My car only has 11k miles on it. I will never buy this brand again.

    They should use another brand for the larger Mini models + the 2-series Active Tourer. Sadly BMW sold off most other names so they only have Triumph and Riley left of the British brands but Riley is quite unknown and Triumphs are roadsters and sporty sedans. Would have prefered the Austin brand

    Saw a 2013 Countryman S at a used dealers yesterday with very faded black now erm grey powdery looking plastic trim above the front wheel arches that is shocking a for 5 a year old BMW in the UK so not the hottest place on the planet,i was also looking at a Cooper JCW convertible last summer test drove it and the rattles and same shi--y but now piano shiny plastic bits all over the outside trim on a pre Reg less than 3 months old full of hair line scratches on the shiny plastic cheap trim bits.
    Anyway long story short i walked away for the price Mini's are covered in this high gloss plastic now.
    Car was fun to drive though but very hard ride JCW's to expected though!

    wow, a bash fest of the MINI. "it's a really good car" but lets just talk about how awful it is! A.)its the fastest MINI in production...watch AlexOnAutos he got 5.9 seconds B.)its expensive but with federal and/or state incentives it brings it down to the cost of a countryman S (which is slower and less efficient) C.)talking about advertised mpg but if you watch many other videos you will find that people are getting around 35 mpg combined and about 20 miles of electric range. Sure, that is much less than the Volt but you are also getting a much more usable cargo space and wider hatch opening.

    • @bruintoo
      @bruintoo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no state incentives for this car (not in CA), at least. Federal yes, about $4K. The gas engine is too dirty. Go ahead look it up. Not eligible for HOV stickers. Electric rage is atrocious. No people are not getting 20 miles on this, maybe plus or minus 12 to 15 miles. Combine gas and electric range is only 270 miles because of the small gas tank. The gas engine Countryman's range is 403 miles. This is the only electrified car that spends more time at a gas station!

      @tuanhuyngo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would say the current mini offerings from BMW should go the next model name just like BMC did back in the 1960's and 70's.
    BMC move on to the model label "Maxi", that the Canadians nick named "land crab" which might fit model much better. That's if
    BMC didn't sell the name off to the makers of feminine hygiene products and is still available.

    This mini PHEV sucks. First, it is not eligible for any HOV stickers anywhere because the gas engine is too dirty. The all electric range is 12 miles. The combine gas and electric range is 270 miles (small gas tank). The regular ICE Countryman is 403 mile range. This is the only electrified car that spends MORE time at a gas station! It's not even eligible for CA clean air car rebate!
