It's more than just a slight accent, the producers are actually forming English words using Hatsune Miku's Japanese voice bank. Thing is, Japanese consists of 500 sounds, while English has about 2500 different sounds. So producers have to substitute Japanese sounds that for what is missing compared to the English language. For some words, it sounds alright. But for more complex words or phrases... You get the idea.
