Certainly he should get recognition for changing the country from 1944 up to 1970 or so. After that it was pure repression. If it was that great , why were a lot of us escaping?? We had a very good relation with Russia and it seemed that we had great chemistry with Russians as people,way better than we have today with Americans or Europeans because Russians had the same mentality with us mostly...The only problem was that Russia didnt want to help Albania modernise its machinery and become an industrialised economy..This is why Hoxha was forced to cooperate with China after that and not Russia...I believe that if Russia would handle better certain situations today it would be in the place of USA in terms of power and economy..The eastern block would never fall,but the problem with Russia was that Marxism leninism died as an idea sadly..
