Monte Carlo or Bust! - Official Trailer (1969)
Monte Carlo or Bust! is a 1969 British/French/Italian co-production comedy film, also known by its American title, Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies. The story is based on the Monte Carlo Rally - first raced in 1911 - and the film recalls this general era, set in the 1920s. A lavish all-star film (Paramount put $10 million behind it), it is the story of an epic car rally across Europe that involves a lot of eccentric characters from all over the world who will stop at nothing to win.
The film is a sequel to the 1965 hit Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. Terry-Thomas appeared as Sir Cuthbert Ware-Armitage, the equally dastardly son of the Sir Percy Ware-Armitage, which Thomas had played in the earlier film. Some others of the cast from the first film returned, including Gert Fröbe and Eric Sykes. Like the earlier film, it was written by Ken Annakin and Jack Davies and directed by Annakin, with music by Ron Goodwin. The title tune is performed by Jimmy Durante. The credits sequence animation was the work of Ronald Searle, who was also featured in Annakin's earlier Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. Tony Curtis and Susan Hampshire played other contestants in the race; Curtis also starred in the similar period-piece comedy The Great Race (1965) from Warner Bros.
The film was originally intended to be called Rome or Bust. The American distributors Paramount Pictures re-titled it Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies to tie it to Annakin's 1965 film; re-editing also meant cuts, up to a half-hour, from the original UK release.

Something I realised after watching this a few times is that I think there might have been a voiceover of this, but it's been edited out I think

The trailer shows lots of footage that was sadly cut from the film by Paramount which is a shame because it interests me and it would probably be nearly impossible to buy a DVD of the original uncut version.

What will it be like if Paramount never cut any of these footages? That could've been great if these scenes are left in the final version.

What will it be like if there's two Academy Award categories called "Best Comedy Film" and "Best Ensemble Cast in a Comedy Film"? If so, this would've won either of the two.

    Hello Guyes, hello James,
Yes you are right. Many scenes are cut for whatever reason.
I have a question to you.
I've been looking for a similar film for 30 years and I don't know the actors or the title of the film.
I can only remember the final scene.
They are almost the same era.
    Final scene:
A car race between several drivers begins.
During a duel, the opponents try to eliminate each other and drive head to head towards the finish line.
When the villain's front wheel breaks, his car falls to the ground, but his tire/wheel rolls unnoticed as the first to cross the finish line.
The heroes then reach their destination and are cheered by the gathered people.
The opponent comes angrily and complains to the judge and says: My tire crossed the finish line first, I won the race!
The opponent is not noticed by the judges. The winners, a man and a woman, kiss and are cheered by everyone. The opponent picks up his bike and throws it on the ground out of frustration and walks away.
In the end, the opponent is actually the winner but everyone cheers for the couple who continue kissing at the car until the film ends.
I would be very happy if you know the title, film or actors?

Paramount deleted some 40+ minutes of footage before the film release. I’m sure these scenes hit the incinerator decades ago so don’t bother looking for them.
