'Speed with control seems to me the motto of Pt. Debu Chaudhuri in his beautiful rendering of his 'Sitar'. The 'Tabla' (the twin-tablas) wonderfully played by 'Ustad Rashid Mustafa' is enjoyable indeed adding joy. --- "M.K.Subramanian.", Juliet Ct: , Chapel Hill, N.Carolina, USA.
@@devyagyasitar This is the problem with us beginners… we confuse Bageshree with Rageshree, Shree with Puriyadhaneshree !! Do explore if you can have a ticker in the video flashing the Raga.. perhaps over time we will get to know the difference…Even in concerts, they dont announce the Raga , when the musician on stage is introduced, and we are expected to just know! Unlike in Western Classical, where which artist will play what is printed in the ticket itself!! The following for Hindustani Classical Music is picking up and videos like yours are indeed a gift for us students of the Sitar….
The West is all about instant gratification and it shows thru its Corporate brand of music. The Popular stream of this music in the West, sounds like a jingle from a Jello commercial, with a limited attention span, compared to the complexity of this Eastern sound. I'm from the US btw, I just find it glaringly obvious.
Apart from the repetitious performance which needs some explaining, what kind of Sitars were these with some frets missing in Madhya and taar saptaks??
