Pineapple on pizza apparently got lost in translation it's supposed to have thin slices of pineapple that caramelized when cooked. I don't know if thats true though so take it with a grane of salt

Honestly, pineapple on pizza isn't even that bad. I like it, people just meme on it for the joke. The pineapple has a really sweet flavor that compliments the rest of the food.

From my knowledge, pineapple pizza can actually be pretty good, the issue is people throw massive chunks on it and stuff when it is supposed to be thin slices.
True, it's all about putting a balanced amount of it. When biting the pizza, you gotta feel all the flavours instead of only the pineapple. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The reason on why many hate pineapple on pizza is because it doesn't follow to og recipe. The og recipe states that you must cut the pineapple into thin slices and lay it flat on the cheese so it mixes with the cheese which sounds a lot better than the weird, dry chunks were served today.
Yeah, that does sound better. It's weird when you're trying to bite the pizza and there's just a big slice of pineapple there. You can't even feel the taste of the other ingredients. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
