I took the mechanical and electrical test today. I’m not bragging I’m just a very good test taker but I got offered a job on the spot for doing so well on it. This is probably the best video I’ve seen on it.
I highly suggest practicing the test itself. I failed the first Ramsay test for the Tech II for Amazon. I studied all the content and it didn’t help. The test itself and how it’s worded is the problem itself. I studied Ohms law, print reading, power transmissions, I’ve worked on cars, fixed all sorts of mechanical things but the test asks things like the tail of a pulley system, ammeters etc…. Study the test. Use job test prep or a test prep site. Take their practice test you’ll see what I mean. Some of it is common sense and if you know you know, other questions are mechanically inclined questions. I’m taking it again and if I don’t pass it will be apprenticeship for me which honestly I don’t want to do with the knowledge I already have. So do yourself a favor and study the topics and the test itself.
Thank you for this insightful feedback. We definitely (and humbly) agree. Sadly, there isn't always a correlation between a candidate's experience and knowledge and their success on the test. Therefore, preparation with the actual test structure is essential.
