I like to have two back up primary mowers for my one man operation! I never stress out about needing an oil change or fresh blades. One is always one deck for maintenance at a pace I can deal with.
Been in business for 20 years and never been in a predicament like this year. I’ve always had back up equipment ready to go. But both of my mowers 2018 & 2019 went down at the same time. One mower was out for a month. The other was up and back down for a month. Thankfully Tim at St Louis Equipment hooked me up with a 72” Wright ZK for about 10 days! 💯 👍😎
Ive been waiting on a speed sensor for my '17 vanguard 28 on my ferris. Dealer placed it on order like 3 weeks ago since there was none in the united states and its still not here. Got a new ECU weeks before a simple little sensor. Parts shortage has been real a killer.
Don't forget to ask your dealer about that Autonomous Wright Stander ZK that drives itself. As always, thanks for the real-talk, Ed. Interesting prognostication about how outdoor power equipment dealers may end up resembling more like European car dealers.
We as a country have to make our products in America we make the mowers in America but not the components that's the problem say goodbye to china Make It Here👍👍👍
lets not forget the semi delivery drivers, that industry have the same problem as they break down alot of them have to wait for parts , that can be 2 -6-8 weeks out, so at some point deliveries will become a problem in some areas.

We try to source as much as we can from out area. Some parts are not optional. For example, rubber trees don't grow in the US.
People have lost their minds over manufactured fear.
