    These two defense lawyers are grabbing at any straws they can. They both annoy the heck out of me.

    • @Ratchet299
      @Ratchet299 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s their job, just as it’s the judge’s job to reject those straws. The system worked, no reason to be annoyed.

    Every judge should be like Honorable Judge Kelly, fair , just, and knowledgeable. He sticks to the law and makes good old fashioned rulings.

    The State never sought to make Shihadeh a total liar. And yes it's FACT a witness can tell the truth on some things and lie or be convinced of bullshit and easily led on other things.
    Using Shihadeh as the defenses star witness was ALWAYS going to be a disaster for this defense.

    • @sppl
      @sppl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup. Sometimes it sounded the defense was cross-examining their own witness. :)

    Jesus, Brian Claypool is irritating. The closing argument is annoying. Forces and unsympathetic feeling for their client.

  • @oliviachacon6000

    Claypool. Please please stop this awful mess of a defense closing statement. Get a new suit that fits

  • @sppl
    @sppl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You don't push for a mistrial unless you think you're about to lose, if you're not confident you're about to win. It looks like they'd rather push for a mistrial and take another swing. And then Claypool tries to tell the jury this case is easy to solve. -_-

  • @8143550
    @8143550 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    OMG the defense closing statement is " I didn't do anything" - exactly her repeated statements when confronted with the video evidence. The lawyer thought the jurors were stupidest humans on earth. OMG

  • @QemeH
    @QemeH 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Let me get this straight... his defense is:
    "Yes, my client wanted her husband killed. But because the police departement didn't stop her right away, but played along to get more evidence, she can't be sentenced."
    Sound about right?
    If so, he's mighty dumb...

  • @cateellington4081
    @cateellington4081 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Lol. Claypool says 'is state gonna backtrack now Becs Marino says Shihadeh is trustworthy '? 'The state cherry picks the evidence'!?
    Yeh it's not State Claypool who's bumbling thru this disaster of a closing argument. Or backtracking or cherry picking. If Marino is not trustworthy than how can you ask Jury to trust Marino on anything? Including that Shihadeh was trustworthy?
    The defense knew or should hv known the almost certain conviction was coming this time. The evid the state brought in absolutely decimated this ridiculous defense. Fact.

    Right at about the 1 hour mark, blood began seeping out of the jurors eyes and ears! Man, this Mickey Mouse defense attorney is a clown, incompetent as hell. The fact that he thought for one second he could sell his and Dalias fake ass story is mind blowing by itself. He is just as crazy as she is!

    1:07:22 - "We'll never know" - are you kidding? Your client is sitting right there and she was AT Chili's! Make a claim as to what happened there! At least lie to us! Have her tell YOU to tell the rest of us in great detail what happened at Chili's! You say you wish you had that tape while saying the tapes in actual evidence shouldn't be relied upon because of contamination. But the "lost" tape is somehow an exception? You must've thought this jury was stupid. What an insult to their intelligence.
    "A = B... (or... err... kinda, sorta, loosely) = B!"
    "B = C... (or... I mean... kinda, sorta, loosely) = C!"
    "Therefore,, A MUST = C!!!"
    - B. Claypool

    • @sppl
      @sppl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. He fails to take all of his police misconduct arguments and make a claim as to how it impacts her guilt or innocence. But the evidence against her is so overwhelming that maybe he simply couldn't find a way to make that connection.

      hi friend !!
      i agree, i also think getting new trial after being convicted is an injustice.....the "reasons" were something like>> a juror was behind in child support payments /considered a felony in their state !!
      and the jury might know about her trying to poisin him, o m g...cant have them knowing..... it might make her look bad lol ......if thoses things have anything to do w/her being 5000% guilty, please, fill me in
      the videos showed the crime happen, those last hung jurors, well, they lied too, they took an oath to give the correct verdict
      claypool. omg, i cant even watch him yet lol, seeing him at the verdict, i bet he feels like us about her, hes just into dramatics and grabbed this high profile case/circus

    People are mad at the defense attorneys but they’re doing their jobs. It’s annoying watching them try to distort reality but from a non attorney perspective they’re doing a great job with what they’re working with. Must of spent the money she stole from Mike on these guys 😂
