    I’m sure rolling that hoist on that gravel was fun.

      I don’t know what we were thinking! We pushed the truck back so we could raise the bed and push the truck out from under it. We tried rolling the hoist a few times and realized we were idiots and pushed the truck forward. It was a little hot that day. Lol

    I lifted one of these off by myelself when I was doing rear suspension work. Couple ratchet straps and a homemade A frame and some tall jack stands

    I used PB Blaster and let it sit for 30 min. All 8 came out no problem.

      You were lucky! It seems like I always have to cut them out.

      @@C10TruckNerd when I tried to break them at first they didn’t budge. I put PB blaster on, waited 15 minutes, sprayed another layer on, waited another 15 min. And they broke free relatively easy. First time the bed was off the truck. It’s a 70 C10 and I did this 4 days ago.

      @@sjcali6161 I'll have to give the Blaster a shot next time. Thanks for tip!

    I am shocked that those 3" caster wheels did not roll smoothly over that gravel.

      I do miss the days of having a concrete driveway. Biggest issue we had was the wheels got caught in the ramp slats.

    I wouldn’t mind trying that bracket out on my channel, I’m a one man show for a 71 C10 project too. Love the congent

      It’s a pretty cool setup. Only thing one might add is an extension arm on the cherry picker to keep it more level when hoisting. You’ve got a great channel! Love the 71! My 1st C10 was a med green 71 custom very similar to yours. Keep up the good work and thanks for watching!

    Engine hoist works good for me

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It worked pretty slick. Did you have to add on to the cherry picker arm or did it pull fairly level for you?

    I need a good long bed mine is done the floor is so rusted its to far gone this one would of been perfect its the same color. Under mine theres a spot where its sitting on the frame mount n theres a hole there but theres no bolt or hole in the bed floor for a bolt to go thru its inbetween the 2 mounts behind the cab like from the cab back there a mount with a bolt then another mount with no hole or bolt then the flat mount with bolt wat was that for a longhorn adition or something??

    What was the tonnage of that hoist

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cherry picker was 2 ton and the bed removal kit was 800 lbs max.

    Hi Chad. Thank you for all the videos. My truck bed is great, but there is damage to the forward panel. I want to replace only that panel. Is there any way to remove that thing without taking the whole truck bed off? Thanks!

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have never tried to pull it in place. You might be able to get some wrenches between the header and cab to try. If not, pull the bed mount bolts and slide the bed back a few inches. That’s a great question I would like to know too!

      Right? Maybe one day I'll have some concrete. It was too hot that day. We pulled the truck back so we could lift the bed and roll the truck forward. I laughed when I watched trying to roll the cherry picker on the rock.

    A 4x4 cut to width of
    The bed inside rails works just as good!

    • @C10TruckNerd
      @C10TruckNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have seen some others do that with an eye bolt. How did you secure the 4x4s under the rail? Clamps?

      @@C10TruckNerd i manage to put it in the middle and didn’t need to balance it. I once pulled a long bed and camper off a truck with the engine hoist.

    Just found your videos. So far, love 'em. I have a '69 C 10 that originally had the wooden bed, mostly rotted out. I'm thinking I'll try the 4x4, that the guy mentioned below. Fortunately, I have a huge driveway that is all concrete. What part of Kansas are you in? I lived in Wichita for several years, but back home in Iowa now.

      I appreciate the support! The 4x4 works good as well and much cheaper. You just have to bring it a little more to the front to stabilize it. I'm just outside of Wichita.
