The thing that most people do not get. Is how much better it sounds compared to the TF series. This addition of a mouse ... well...two hands are faster than one.
Ok, as someone who owns a dm7, Cl5 and several Ql’s. I think it has its place. If they added Dugan natively to it, it would be even better. For under 2k, with a Dante card? Hard to beat. We were joking that the dm3 costs less than a rio1608. So, buy a dm3-D (as a rio) and get a free little mixer. What , in your opinion , for the price point and use case would you rather have ?
@@KINETICPROFESSIONALS Thank you for the thoughtful response. First off, 6 busses is not enough. I agree that Dugan would make a difference. Also there is not enough physical faders. As I said, it’l is beautiful and cool but not practical.
I'm thinkin it would be perfect for me... for a rehearsal space driving a 4-piece rock band thru a big PA. All of the pertinent processing is on board for the job. Could probably load it up to run sound from the stage in nightclubs and such. Channel count is enough... dont need more than eq, comp, and gate for bar-band use. VST Rack can add some processing. Not sure if that particular feature would be practical for live bands... but it would be interesting to try if the extra latency wasn't a problem. I'm thinkin of grabbing one if they ever come back in stock.
I have a DM3, for what I need it is perfect. Small, light, built on a metal frame, and it sounds good. I have owned an O1V, a pair of O2R’s, an LS9 and many other boards over the last 30 years. Yes, it cannot do what the DM7 does, but for $1999.99 it has all of the features I need for a small gig. Every tool has it’s place in a tool box.

Very cool! Can this function also work when the dm3 is plugged into lab-top? Or these is only 1 usb ? Thanks
Very nice feature. Will try with mine. Thank you !
Ok, it works pristine. But did you know you also can use a keyboard, or both of them simultaneously ? 🙂
Will now be trying this in about an hour when I get to work with my DM3
Excellent video!
Hi great info and video! Has it Gate?
What a great tip!, thank you!
will the DM3 accept a keyboard as well? or a combo of keyboard and mouse?
@@dragonslayer4377 havnt tried. Good question!
In my opinion, the DM3 is one for the most impractical sound related pieces of technology I have ever seen.

This will make the touchscreen useless 😅
This is not a new concept by Yamaha... Already the old 03d console was able to connect a mouse by db9 port...
Ya, they had it on tf series lately too. I had a o3d. The db9 port did say “mouse” but I never used it. That an a O1v used to be work horses!
wow this is cool
