  • Hi RC Enthusiasts
Welcome to my channel and thank you for taking the time to view this video.
In this short video I will be unboxing and taking a first look at this ISDT 70 ESC.
This has been purchased for a future project coming to my channel. I needed a brushed motor ESC, but more importantly, I needed to capability to either program the modulation for better car control, or have an ESC that was already designed specifically for fine control.
I opted for the ability to have it programmable. Of course I could have gone for the market leader, HobbyWing, but I thought I'd give this new technology ESC a look.
    The Specifications are:
    Cont. / Peak Current: 70/120A
    Motor type: 540/550/775 Brushed motor
Battery Type: 2~3S LiPo or 6~8Cell NiMH
Applications: 1/8 or 1/10 Various models
    Wire/ Connectors: 16AWG-200mm(Without Plug)
Weight: approximately 49g and the switch approximately 4.5g
    Dimension: 38.6mm ×31.6mm ×17.15mm
What do you think? Have I wasted my money, or is it a good value alternative ?
As always, thank you for watching, I really appreciate your support. Please do comment, like & subscribe to see more RC related videos.
Keep well and all the best to you. See you again soon.

Interesting looking ESC. It's well packaged...nice presentation. Interesting that they don't install any connectors but then again depending on what you're going to use it for, and your electrical experience, (say no more say no more :)), this is perfect for tinkering with. I'll be very curious to see how you like it John.

I have three of these speed controllers, and I've been quite happy with them. I currently run one in a WPL C24-1, one in an Axial Wraith 2.2 and one in a 10th scale RGT crawler.
I love being able to easily program them from my phone, and the fine tuning of the bec is really nice. Being able to push more voltage, without it being too much, like if you can only choose between two setting, is really nice. That functionality really helped my WPL, taking the steering servo from hopelessly weak to fairly decent.
Getting the drag brake to work properly can sometimes feel a bit like a dark art. Sometimes it works as it should, other times it's a bit on the weak side, depending on the rig (gearing, weight and so on).
I have them connected to 550 motors in my 10th scale rigs, and there's plenty of go, and modulation is quite nice.
Really quite a decent speed controller for not too much money. Not something I would use In a comp crawler, but for most other trail and crawler rigs it's plenty good. 😊
