Love you channel, and have bee following along for a year or so. I just saw your very first episode, and I'm very fascinated by the book you featured. Keep up the good work!!
We are taking our kids to the Tallahassee Temple to tour this next Saturday with our two kids. That will be our official Temple for Pensacola. It's cool but I've enjoyed getting over to the Baton Rouge Temple or the Birmingham Temple where we were Sealed / Married. We loved the getaway for food and memories. Not sure if we will go to Tallahassee, maybe once in a while
You know, we are living in times where anything pertaining to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints based in Salt lake City is no longer Mormon. To call yourself Mormon now is to be more associated with Joseph Smith and his religious labors rather than the church that has become the largest proceeding his labors. Mormon book reviews will necessarily become four distant from that church in the understanding that it's members will naturally develop over the coming years. The oddity is that many members like the Paul brothers in the authors they publish are still utilizing the term Mormon, even though the president has strongly rebuked the use of such term. When are these members going to fully commit to following the prophet, or when are they going to realize the follies of his teachings? The way I see it, there is no real middle ground on the matter. The rest of the churches that have branched from the labors of Joseph Smith will begin to appropriate the term Mormon, and as I said, the mainstream church will distance itself further and further. I am interested to see how this continues to develop. I gladly except the identifier of Mormon, but then again I am not too concerned about following a man no matter what his priesthood station is. The example that I followed is simply Jesus Christ. If any man approximates the character and likeness of Christ, then I am not following that man, but I am following the Savior. To be Mormon is to accept truth from wherever it comes. It is to breach the constraints of Bible idolatry believing that the word of God cannot exceed the bounds of a certain number of pages, and a certain number of printed letters. Dare I say, a church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints has stumbled upon the same issue, but they're constraint is just a little bit bigger than the Bible. Will they accept the word of God from prophets who are not their own, and from books that are not controlled by the church itself? There are many words that God speaks that are far beyond the limits or even 15.
Steve, I wouldn’t say you met with an apostle. You ran into an apostle it wasn’t planned or organized and you didn’t have an appointment with him. Funny how you titled this. But you ran into the apostle you didn’t meet with him.
I think what @KB-nv4bl is talking about, is that in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we would say by our 'jargon' that I ran into an apostle (no appointment). Saying, in the LDS jargon, "I met with Elder Anderson" would imply that an appointment for a meeting was set up and attended.. It would not be inappropriate for most people, however, who did not know different, to say that they met with Elder Anderson.. I really like that Evangelical Steven Pynakker shared his experience in such a wonderful way. Thank you Steven. (do I say Elder Steven? or Do I say Evangelical Pynakker?) I am not sure how to be respectful here of your calling or position. And thank you deeply for sharing all your information. I have watched a time or 2 and have really enjoyed your content.

Hope you feel better soon! You are in my prayers!
Love your show!!! Thank you for each week.
Elder Corbitt presided over my stake conference! Would have loved to talk to him.
He's a great guy!
Odd that even nonmembers are star struck by apostles and church royalty.
I wouldn't say star struck, more appreciative of their kindness and humility

I definitely feel that an appointment was made by a higher authority.
