Yes, practice can separate someone from the rest, but he has to have that natural ability as a starting point. Someone lacking in talent is not going to be the best regardless of how much he practices.
These defencemen need to play the body. If Bedard is coming down on you one on one… forget the puck, take the body and good things will happen. But right when you look at the puck, and you can see it in there eyes ( especially the last one ) Bedard will shed you, and you will be on plays of the year… but not for a good reason.
Idk how they are teaching players these days, I'm a 87 birth yr, I played against Crosbys peewee team at the Quebec world championship tourny, been teammates on team USA with kessel, just to provide context for what I'm gonna say....what u just said was a absolute no brainer to the extent that we were never aware there was any other options, that's all we were rver taught, forget the puck-play the body, every sibgle tine period. There are guys out there who can do damn near magical shit with that puck if u are gonna be a player who doesn't engage immediately and allow them the opportunity to throw u in their spin cycle so to speak .. that applies for every scenario not jusy one on ones obviously, take the body, it's not the NFL or football in any way where u have to wait on the receiver to catch a pass so you can hit them lol its fuckin hockey, take the puck out of the equation along with their superior stick handling skills and be smart about what ur doing. Giving someone that kinda space at this level especially is begging to be on a sportscenter highlight reel getting cooked... I had a younger brother who played about five yrs younger , and they were already starting to teach them kids to shy away from fighting, and to be extremely careful when hitting and all this newer shit we see now that's changed the game a bit. N look I'm 5'6, 180 lbs, bot the biggest guy but was aleays the most physical everywhere I played, but I was always a high skill guy so I'm all for the open ice, and letting the talent shine instead of trying to glorify less talented guys being relevant just cuz of physicality. BUT, that's also the beauty to the game of hockey and the reason why it's been a self-government game on That ice, u go after the best players, someones gonna make u pay for it wuth their fists or by lining u up and just running your shit. It's always kept the game honest and allowed everyone to find their own set of skills that fit them and if they r not physical, that's ok they have someone specifically for just that reason. When guys becone afraid to lay someone out with a clean hit, or drop those gloves and make someone bleed n risk their own skin as well, the game of hockey will no longer be the sport weve come to love
@@JimBurlakoff Well, McDavid got hurt in his first year as well, but McDavids injury was 2 guys tackling him and slamming him into the boards at top speed...If Bedard can't get hit, he's in trouble...he's pretty small compared to McDavid. Anyway, I've invested a couple grand on Bedard Boxes, so hopefully he rocks!
I can't wait to be nearly 50 years old, watching Connor become his own goon in his 20th year, as he is somewhere in the Ovi/Crosby conversation. Screencap this. He will become his own goon as the league softens.
After watching his first game he seems like just an average NHL caliber player. I think in the long run his small size will make him appear even more average. I didn't see anything special in these video clips above that dazzled me. Maybe too much hype.
@@TT-rk8mi Watched the highlights from the game against Tampa Bay. Three 2 on 1 assists (yawn), and one goal the goalie kicked in himself. Still not seeing anything spectacular. Others may be as productive if given the same ice time.
His terrible plus minus record is the shock. Worst on the hawks and worst amongst top 100 NHL scorers. Look at the facts. He needs to work on his defensive play. But it seems that some people need a hero to worship.
Dude, he gonna learn to back check and play in D zone in the NHL. He just NEVER need to do that in his young career. It was the same for Ovy, Lafleur, Gretsky and a lot of great player like that. They just never need to play defense in junior, they are too good in offense. But for your information, you can't learn to be offensive and score goal, but you can learn how to play defense. He gonna learn, I have no doubt about it.
He bows how to backcheck he owns the puck out there his give away take a way ratio is off the chart ! Do some research before you speak he doesn’t in both ends as a coach you need him to take some chances most he’ll cash in I don’t see much wrong with his game especially his iq.
@@berryscott3590can't have the best shot in the NHL if he's yet to play lol. NHL is a lot different than jr hockey. He's good but don't think he's going to be a McDavid or Matthews first season.
Bedard is unbelieveable.
He's a good player, he isn't unbelievable
❤❤❤❤❤
Can't wait to see him with the Hawks! 🤘🤘
His skill level is out of this world
I think this guy is to hockey what Messi is to soccer: A GENIUS!
Are you serious, he's the best player on his team he's nowhere near the best player in the league who goes by the name of Connor
Last goal was filthy
55 saves by Slovak goalie is crazy tho
Both on the blackhawks now
Especially against that team
Unbelievable
Canada jersey goes hard🇨🇦🔥
4:18 is the best backhand i’ve seen in a while.
He’s a beast
It's no secret, to be the best just takes practice..you practice you become great!
false all the nhl players practice and some are very bad
Yes, practice can separate someone from the rest, but he has to have that natural ability as a starting point. Someone lacking in talent is not going to be the best regardless of how much he practices.
The most amazing hockey play I have even witnessed
Next Wayne Gretzky 🔥
Bedard is a cheat code
I miss watching him and McTavish play at the world juniors
How is that Slovak O.T. goal not number 1 here ?
As Slovakian I must confirm, his goal against us was the best one 😞
Did you see #1??
5:30. As Slovak this hurts... But damn. That kid is just perfect.
That was a moment in history for team canada
He shoots the puck very quickly. He rarely holds onto it once he is ready to shoot
5:35 i remember watching this game and i ran to my dad to watch the reivew o fthe goal i was so happy lmao
Still find it hard to believe I was in the building for that OT goal at #2! Crazy...
Same!
in 60 years best player I ever saw

Football (American) player/watcher... who tf is this kid and what was that last move!? Im a fan now. Welcome to Chicago Kid
Let’s see if he’s the next McJesus.
I don't think so..

When the Hawks meet the Oilers...I'll be watching
MacD's skating is infinitely superior.
Yeah but he's what, 18?
bros next conner mcdavid
His release is so fast on this one 3:08
connor bedard is so gross so hype for him to play in the nhl
great but 2 and 1 clips are replaced
Truly, a gifted magician : '' Dances With Skates ''.......not Dances with Wolves... WATCH, for this soon-to-be man,. Rubber ankles.....
6:09 (GUYS I GOT THIS) lol
Bedard is second on my lists
who is first jw
tbh number 2 is better than number 1
thts cap
No he's not ... But that Russian kid, drafted by Philly MIGHT BE... He's Really REALLY GOOD
pretty sure he was refereeing to #2 on the highlight reel vs #1....LOL
@@berryscott3590
So true
I was just about to say the same thing.
2 and 1 are reversed
#1 was top goal with worst call from the play-by-play.
This kid is 18. Keep that in mind. He has a long career ahead of him as long as he doesn’t have any of the teams fighters try and take him out.
over? and over? opposing goalkeepers show utter frustration when connor scores
Lets count how many times Connors mom has shocked the world
in my opinion he'll be just as good as McDavid in a coupe of years.
Here is an amazing stat for ya. Every game Bedard scores in, they lose. Maybe rethink giving him the puck.

amine
The top 2 goals are better than the top 2 goals all time nhl
Ok buddy
Juniors don’t count… I mean eberle, hall, powers, Wright and so many others were world class in juniors but just good players in the NHL
None of this fancy crap will be happening in the big boy league
shishhh i never looked at it as anything other than sex
Sucks seeing such skill on an American team. Canada needs cups we have enough gold medals.
30 years...
Damm u need better avvrage let me open the.door
Sorry guys, this kid will be a bust
Haha, I'd like to believe you, but he hasn't been hyped for 4 years to be a bust...there's no bodychecking in the NHL anymore, especially on stars..
I'd be sad if my team didn't get him either.
Blackhawks dynasty 2.0 coming to the NHL soon
