- A Flying Car (1949). Filmed in the 40s in Italy, a propellor driven automobile that flies makes its first test flight. Top land speed is 150mph and air speed is over 200mph. So the flying cars were being developed more than a quarter of century before Scaramanga made them famous in "The Man with the Golden Gun".

The flying car now, as then, remains a dream for the vast majority not because of engineering, but licensing. It has to be licensed as a car, and an aircraft, the driver/pilot needs licensing as both driver and pilot, and it needs insuring as a car and as an aircraft too.
And then again if you crash on the land there is no claiming the damages on the wing part, any crash in the air there is no claiming the damage on the wheels.... Oh wait.

When I was a child I had seen a dream of flying cars flying over my village but when I become young I got to know that cars can't fly. Today when I saw this video on page suddenly this incident came to my mind.

As a guy living in Italy, I can comfirm it. On my first year of arrival here I did an accident while crossing the road with my cycle. That mf was in so hurry he had to ditch me

Some people's cars are really not roadworthy,* imagine if flying cars are not fly-worthy or road-worthy because the drivers are arrogantly dumb and clueless.
* I can't imagine it's every case, but when a really bad one shows up, *WOW.* That one's gonna leave an impression, alright.

Just like the in the past where Tesla made the Tesla coil and where the fully electric car was made and was functional the reason is the elites won't let us to be modern since the government would lost a significant amount of profit.
Because most people don't have the need or the money for an airplane or a pilot's license.

Why is this not a thing today?
Flying cars (at least the vehicles like in the big cities in Star Wars ) would never work.
ReflexEight No, I mean this. Everyone could just fly off from any field and get over mountains quicker. Without needing to go through any airport checks and other crap.
belgariad they do have this. But you still have to drive it to an airport and have a pilot license.
There are two (near production ones) on TH-cam. Look up "flying car". They drive with the wings folded.

But unfortunately not good for big city airports cos of cost and inconvenience of waiting for clearance etc. But just land in a country airport close to the city and drive in. And drive out of the city and take off at a small country airport. Half the fun would be driving, it has to be a full on car (difficult) so it's enjoyed as a car just as much as a plane. And it has to look cool in both modes (as the ones on TH-cam) they fail miserably in looks as a car (ugly). Getting rid of the tail plane is essential cos it halves the length and nobody wants to drive around in an ugly 25 ft long car. My design looks cool as a car cos it's a delta wing (fast plane) and has small wingspan but wide wings and just the 2 ft wide wingtips fold, and it won't obstruct rear view like the ugly "Terra" flying car folded wings would. I am making a small balsa static model then a way larger rc model of it.

The video mention numbers only I suspect kilometers still 93 and 124 are hard to believe for 125hp.
@@007mwn I disagree. If had with proper aerodynamics, it's definitely possible. My 08 Swift Sport with 120bhp can reach 124mph
