Wtf that first track!!!! This *is* Hip-Hop, it’s like a raw Madlib sound with that hot Dilla bassline. Idk how your not a famous newer beat maker like Kev Brown or Oddisee.
!!!! my god man….I hope you’re getting the recognition you deserve my friend. seriously, nothing but respect. impressed over and over again. nothing short of brilliant. sharing with fellow music nerds.
smooth classic sounding beats dude. shits dope... ahhhh I miss this kinda hip hop. I instantly am teleported to better times when listening to this kinda stuff I know that sounds corny but its true.
DAMN! I just wrote a rap (a page) starting at track 4 and ending at 10...pure magic. Thank you for these jewels! VIVA HIP HOP MUNDIAL! #LOVE #HIPHOP #BEATS
Do you realize akai is making apple do all the expensive work and selling you a midi controller for hardware prices? I'd gladly use an MPC ren if I could get one for like $100... There's not even $100 worth of plastic on them. Not bashing you, I just hate post-numark akai with a passion.
Thanks man! you should check the version on Soundcloud aswell, i remastered it to get it more present, i like it more. I bounced it to cubase, mixed & mastered > cassette (jvc td-x372), i would like a reel to reel tho!
+Dillon Christie Hi! I use cubase to mix/master my music. I bounce the stems from the beat seperately so they can be treated indivdually. (and on this tape its recorded to cassette afterwards).
+Dillon Christie hmm i dont really know if i have any tips, kinda depends on what you mean with lo-fi. But perhaps sample rather than use kits cus kits often have too much highs/processing going on making everything too icy and crisp.
+Dillon Christie if you really want some tips, rather than hoping someone gives you the magic "secret" like most these new producers - learn how to use filters, eq's, and how to tune samples/drums.. Rjd2 has a video up giving away good lil secrets about drum processing.. Just dig around.
Mr America Alright man cheers, iv made a lot of progress i know all the obvious points such as eq's, im learning filters slowly. Moving on to different types such as future bass and progressive trap with old school hip hop elements. At the moment im learning side chaining and various limiter functions. Ill dig around online anyway man cheers.
yoooo this is so dope bro, would there be any way to get some hat and kick samples? btw if you a Dre fan check out my remake on my channel thanks keep it up!
Nah man sampler don't come with anything, just gotta dig and over time you learn how to master the attack/decay of your snares, kick and high hats. Also a important thing to do his filter your snares with your mids at the highest and bass off, high stays the same
The bass on the first track is so mean and groovy, my favourite track with 5 and 8 !
I always come back to this channel and the tracks never get old.

okay, much appreciated, iv just started getting into production and was wondering if you could spare any tips for making lo fi hiphop?
