    I look at it this way...think of your online business like your building a house. You pour the foundation on the ground (that’s your blog) the walls of your house are your TH-cam channel or podcast, the doors and windows of your house are your social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, even Twitter), the roof of your house is Pinterest and/or Flipboard , the chimney of your house are FB and Pinterest ads and the furnace of your house is your email list. I don’t believe websites are dead, your website is something you own, you don’t own TH-cam or Instagram! Etc., if something were to happen you’ll always have your website and your email list to reach your followers as a back up. And yes diversify your traffic no differently when your diversifying your income streams.

    0:53 But AI takes the answers from websites, so websites are necessary. Also, people wants to choose the source of information, not just take for granted what AI says. Ai just reprocesses what is already in the web. AI has not bought and tested a blender, has not travelled to Paris, does not sell products, and does not know about medical treatments more than the doctor writing for WebMD.

    • @JaumeRos
      @JaumeRos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah ik what you mean, but what about in a couple of years? How advanced will AI be then? Obviously not advanced enough to travel to paris (I hope) but maybe smart enough to understand exactly what we're looking for - in a much more efficient way to search engines.

      blogs aren't the only type of information source. Most big businesses now have their own blog and have the budgets to get links, authority writers, and SEO specialists. Solopreneur types are dead simply because they can't compete with the big players and UGC content. All this omnichannel bs talk is not viable for small publishers but these guys just keep saying it so that they can continue selling courses

    • @JaumeRos
      @JaumeRos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I'd disagree omnichannel just means act like a normal business. Don't just create a random content site. Try to grow a real brand.

      As a user, I find the SGE answers overwhelming. I prefer reading articles or watching video from people who tried the products and present it in a very relatable way, meaning human. I also think, as SEO, we should start to think ourselves as search engine marketing professionals not only focused on google but on all platforms where a search is performed. Besides I think non english speaking markets have still a lot to catch up in terms of SEO with english speaking markets so they may still offer more traditional SEO opportunities than USA market.

  • @hqrlock
    @hqrlock 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    None of these guys are building niche sites.
    You, looking at this video, are probably an average Joe trying to build a business to be financially free. That's the niche website thing.
    None of these experts do that. They own agencies and work for large clients. For them, SEO work. For you, the small guy with no cash and no brand, it doesn't.
    On top of that there's a survivor bias (those who still come to these conferences obviously still benefit from SEO) and a conflict of interest (they have SEO agencies and sell SEO courses, so of course they'll tell you it still works.)
    The question should be way more specific : what's the probability than a regular joe will start a blog with 0 capital and make it profitable enough to leave his job in less than 2 years ?
    You know the answer.
    Industry's far from dead for established experts (with track records, authority and money, ie : things you cannot fake, emulate or reproduce).
    As a side hustle, it is.

    • @JaumeRos
      @JaumeRos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have to say that most of these guys got started with niche sites, but a while back when things were easier. Now if they are building new sites (which im sure some of them are) they have a lot of leverage with their current sites that have a lot of authority so the game is a lot easier for them - But thats kind of like anything its always easier to do things when you've been doign them for 10+ years.
      But apart from that - I agree with most of what you said :)

      @@JaumeRos Been AI since the beginning but tediously edited/formatted before publishing. Seems like the 50+ HARO links I earned for the past year didn't help much even though I mentioned that my site was still doing ok at the beginning of the update.
      Getting outranked by extremely thin content from establishments (restaurants, hospitals, clinics, etc) as well as topical authority sites, age-old forums, ecom stores.
      Might be thinking of how to add a shop section to my current site if that helps boost search rankings by promoting etsy or print-on-demand products.
      Google search is really in a bad place now for niche website owners. First page results are oftentimes awful and irrelevant. Still waiting for the update to be fully rolled out before I decide where to channel my efforts next.
      The SEO experts in the interview can pivot easily as they have the funds to do so, not much so for the average person sadly.

    would the act of rewording what nw gives me be considered information gain in it self? Or not really since it’s the same topic Just worded differently, are there any ChatGPT or ai processes that come up with good reworded headings you know of?a Are there any processes you know of to find good and untapped headings for new ideas like what’s semantically missing in article and when adding these new untapped headings should I add them on top of all my reworded nw headings or should I replace some of the nw headings with new ones so I can hit my target word count easier instead risking a proportionally written article with tons of headings and a specific target word count that could be low. Saying that SEO will eventually die out is crazy. Yes, people go to the internet to find the answers to questions like "How high is the Eiffel Tower", and AI can answer that quicker, but what about commercial intent? Business depend on web traffic and if AI becomes similar to a search engine then people will still do their commercial investigations to establish the business that they trust the most.
    Optimising your website with content to answer a searcher's query might become obsolete, but that still leaves us with 199 ranking factors.

      Agreed. SEO is not just limit to factual information-based content. A lot of people need expert opinion on more complex matters. for example, if my pet parrot is showing weird behavior or symptoms, I would much rather read a post from someone who's been keeping parrots for years and decades, instead of AI. I would want to learn from the wisdom, personal experience, and advice of the expert. Same with health and psychology related content, would rather read from a medical professionals than AI, and same with other "advice-based" type of content such as finance or self-help. If SEO really dies, we would be left craving for human experts on A LOT of topics, and all that traffic might be transferred to TH-cam... which might be a smart strategy on part of google.

    Should we even do Blog content? Or is blog content completely fucked?

    • @JaumeRos
      @JaumeRos  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well depends on the blog content - hyper informational stuff that is already being eaten up by featured snippets you should probably think twice before doing it - unless you really have some crazy different result from the one thats ranking now. But apart from that - plenty of keywords you can target with your blog :)

    The whole SEO industry is shady & lots of people making money practically through "cheating". How many times do you search for something on Google just to end up on a worthless clickbat page full of ads? Sorry, but no sympathy for the scammers making millions out of wasting people's time and rigging the system.

      yeahh because big brands don't cheat... like reddit... got a "special" deal with google. Now they rank on almost everything.

      I think you'd be singing a different song if you were actually successful. Lots of websites deliver value. I have hundreds of emails thanking me for what I shared online as an expert in my niche. Jealousy is ugly.
