I'm investing as soon as they go public. Use the service, and absolutely love the business model, and the market capture they're getting before uber/lyft get their hands on weed delivery. Owning the product and delivering from distribution centers is incredibly efficient.

I love the business model. Owning the experience from top to bottom is awesome. My question is what or how are you thinking about driver safety especially with the increase in car thefts and robberies?

They can't do anything about carjackings? That's more of a question for the mayor, and the police lol.

Amazon could reduce packaging if they'd just have their suppliers pre-pack into shippable boxes/envelopes prior to delivery to Amazon. Eliminate the retail packaging - an anachronism of brick and mortar. Store the stuff in Amazon warehouses pre-packaged. Makes it easy for robots to complete the process - after picking, run it through an automated labeler and dump it on the right conveyor to the right truck - no humans after receiving.
They could transition by having packing done in receiving while encouraging suppliers to switch over.
Yeah, storage would be bulkier and they couldn't pack multiple different items together to 'save' on packing - but they'll have already saved on packaging material and packing time. Suppliers presumably automate the packing too, just in Amazon branded boxes/bags.

As soon as they purchased BevMo last year I knew they weren't thinking like a regular Silicon Valley company. Their Philly and bootstrapping roots have guided them to such a strong business. Raf is definitely who should lead into IPO days as I like his demeanor a bit more than his co-founder but it doesn't matter, they execute. Any investor who has money into this company is in for a big winfall!

If they are testing driverless taxi's in San Francisco, then that's a very small data point that the city still has life in it. Sadly, this may be how JCal meets his end.

I’m only here to say screw GoPuff and their garbage service. There hot food is terrible. The way they treat employees and delivery partners is disgusting. They leave drivers to fight over shifts. First come first serve is a world war. Most times leaving drivers 0 hours to work with them other wise sit down and Rotate with the other 10 guys. You get maybe 1 order a hour averagely. Terrible app features. The list can go on!!!!

No matter how you cut it & slice it, on demand food delivery services is a low margin industry. Most of the money is going to the driver/shopper. Hopefully they can gain customers annually...fast or none of these businesses will survive 10 years from now.

I don't think you were listning much. They are vertically integrated. They purchase items from CPGs at wholesale pricing so that in itself helps' the margins. Compared to a Uber Eats or Doordash that have to go to 7/11 or Walgreens to go check and see if an item is even still in stock... Not only that, but they sell higher margin items with alcohol and other items through their ownership of companies like BevMo and the East coast equivalent. This is the only real player and in my opinion, they've already reached escape velocity.

@@chrisn7847 Lol you fell in love w/ the guy. I don’t care much for articulation & if he looks good to lead in an IPO. I sat & listened to the business model. Vertical integration doesn’t guarantee success, neither does having inventory. Outsourcing comes w/ problems in itself. I’m from NY & yes they are scaling up w/ micro centers. They also have overhead costs that can kill them alone w/ inflation. Rent, bikes, etc. are expenses. Other competitors like Buyk will give them a run for their money… w/ a lower valuation. Uber acquiring Drizly, is already ahead in that online liquor delivery sector. That will be another uphill battle. I’m sure GoPuff will make that $350M return but Drizly already takes up a large lead.

@@luxurytax5261 lol you might be right. Maybe I got swayed by the presenter but I’ve been following the company for some time and at the end of the day the founders are the ones who lead companies to success so if I had to bet, I’d bet on them. Didn’t know Uber acquired Drizly but even still, Isn’t Drizly just a delivery service as well and have no real estate or have their own revenue generating liquor retail business? Yes, owning or renting property can potentially hurt them but they are buying products at wholesale vs others who just pick up from a retailer and deliver to a customer. Economics are better. We’ll see how it all plays out
