I remember one tactic people used to do to reduce the delay on the migs is to target a civilian structure. So as not to alert the enemy that Boris was in the vicinity. Then swap targets to the actual one you want to destroy when the planes were close.
Of course once the enemy had cleared fog of war this was harder to pull off...
Really depends on size of the map. If it's a big enough map he's going down while he's waiting. Further he has a minor delay when switching from laser back to gun

@@cat-.- Yuri's tank division was definitely a K-mart blue-light special, lol. Lashers are pretty rubbish. A lot of Yuri's units are kinda junky though, but they do weird shit. Meanwhile, gatling cannons, boomers and the cloning vat to make up for the individual shortcomings. And let's not forget slave-miners + genetic mutator + grinder for a whole load of free money.

IMHO, starting with the least experienced unit is time-inefficient. I personally would start with the most experiencied version, as it would allow me to abrupt tests if more experiencied version won't survive. Like in this video even the most experiencied Tanya can't beat a grand cannon, meaning tests with less promoted Tanya are excessive. Just my opinion.
Some units have very different stats that don't make sense between their elite and veteran counterparts. Chrono Legionares come to mind immediately. Elites can't fire over walls, but the others can.
