The world needs more entertainment like this , the crap today is deplorable . Family values with emphasis on respect and moral character . I enjoyed it because my mom was from that era and those were her values as well
Hi Lawan , I found this show very entertaining and there's certainly room for more of this today . Shows of this nature can influence our youth in such a positive way . I can only imagine what life was like back then , my mom was a teen in the 30's and for me this is a peek into what life may have like for her .

I will never forget this family series.It was the best time of my life ,watching it .The first time I wached this series was in 2006,in Bosnia.Now its playing on HRT1 TV(Croatian tv)I am stile enyoing watching it agen remebering the years of 1996-2006.
I was a little boy during the 30s. I was born January of 1931. A lot of the furniture brings back memories. Back then my family didn't have much money. When I was 5 we move to Cooperstown, NY. That was a great place to live for a young kid like me to live. It was similar to what the kids doing in the show only more. There are a few things I see that I don't recall. The cars in the show are different colors. I only remember cars being black. The girls in the show wore short gym clothes a little above the knee. Back in the 30s they wore long dresses. Basketball players didn't shoot long shots one handed. They shot 2 handed. But its still a great show.
Have recorded every show that was telecast. Loved the time period,characters,and actors. It offered peace and quiet into my days. Thanks Sullivan Productions.
Is it as good as Anne of Green Gables? I was itching to see the Canadian series The Campbells, for years; when I finally got the DVDs, I was a tad disappointed.
Directors and actors need to keep in mind to use the correct language patterns of the time, otherwise it ruins the entire series. They didn't say "um" they didn't say "hanging around with" the y didn't say "cops" I stopped watching. The way people spoke in that time period was different. so a big fail because of that and other flaws.
