My biggest gripe in this series is the absence of Professor Snape. I think it would have been a great way to honor the late Alan Rickman to include him. I know he's in 2 normal sets and I'm sure there will be other Harry Potter minifig series' but to not have Snape in the first one is a little questionable.

There is something kind of fun about having a rare chase figure, but I always hate when it's a major character that leaves a gap in the collection. They should be something goofy and skippable, like the gold figure or something super specific.
Something like a character, who is already in the collection and in other sets, with a shiny accessory... WHY INVISIBILITY CLOAK HARRY ISN'T THE RAREST ONE? It would make much more sense!

I was really lucky to find the Percival Graves as I live in an area with a Lego shop, WHSmiths and a Harry Potter shop which had sold out of all of them. I decided to go to an Argos where I was allowed to view through the entire box but there was actually only 1 sold from that box and I think Graves was that one sold as I couldn't find him. Finally I checked a random toy shop and they let me feel through their bags and I managed to find him near the back. Edit: I managed to find him because both his hair pieces were next to each other in the corner of the bag and I knew he was the only one with these hair pieces.
It sucks that LEGO is putting only 1 per case now of certain Minifigures. Perfect example of what it does.... Went to Target in Australia, asked if there were any unopened cases to buy. When they checked in the back, there were 9 cases, all opened by a staff member and one Minifigure gone from each case. If you want to do a “chase” Minifigure, do a limited run like Mr Gold. That way people can’t just buy cases, and it will truly be a chase figure. Not just a case seller.

B17 Corrigan If you look at the legs of Madeye Moody you see they are dual molded to get the effect of a long jacket. For Ben Kenobi they only print the forside, so that looks weird.
The availability of Graves is just straight up disgusting. I've already seen someone who had 15 Graves' available for 30 euro each, that person seriously needs to rethink his life...
I’m glad they don’t have skin showing on some of the outfits (bc I haven’t watched the full video yet) so that you can use them for regular minifigures.
Great review Jang. I thought you would have mentioned that Harry’s “cloak” is only a cape! Unfortunate to not have a hood piece to completely cover him. Regardless, that cape is now high on my wanted list! So many uses!
Very nice that they created a new sort of legs that are small and bend_able . Their not the shortest but that is actually better so you also have a kind of 'teenage' legs.
I only have one complaint with this series. That problem is that I felt like hufflepuff didn’t get much representation but other than that this is a great series, one of my favorites
I love that lego adds Chase figures. I'm a collector and the hunt is 90% of the fun. In everything that I collect I hear people complain about Chase's being hard to get items to be it comics toys whatever. If your dedicated collector you really want an item I've never had a problem getting anything at retail
I'm very excited for those legs. I've had a few lego mocs with characters who are supposed to be "short", but the kids legs are too short and the normal legs obviously leave characters too tall for themselves. Makes me curious if we'd ever get a slightly taller lego legs. I know it'd make them not fit through doors, but thats a situation for some people/characters.

Allready got both Lego Batman Movie ones and the Ninjago Movie on - it's quite rewarding (that is, if you do it the "right" way and don't just order a complete series on ebay or so), but also challenging, especially with series like this one, where Graves only comes once per box.
I did this for the first time with series 18 because I liked the whole series so much. I didn't collect the full Ninjago movie series even though I am a Ninjago fan, but that's because half the series consists of characters that already came in sets or citizens.
Graves/Grindelwald and Moody/Barty Crouch are figures you wouldn't mind having two of, due to the fact that they're essentially two figures in one. I actually got two Moodys, two Flitwicks, one Invisible Harry, one Voldemort and one Grindelwald.
I just completed my collection today. I spent a week hunting down Percival Graves last month and got one but then on my birthday last week my sister bought me a couple of packets and i got another Graves! I now have a complete collection with two Mad Eye Moody's and two Percival Graves. It looks great when you have all of them 👍
Sad about the Graves bit at the end. Tried looking for a box at my local Target (Chicago), and they don't allow people to buy the whole box out of the back specifically for reseller reason. I'll see tons of other Lego YTs get sets before the street date at their local Targets essentially causing sets to go out of stock before the actual street date. I'm kinda glad my Target is super strict on street dates specifically because it's one of the top 3 highest grossing store in the system, so there is always an eye on it.
When I went to Walmart to get series 18 minifigures, they were all gone, and not just in the toy section but not even in the paying sections. When I went to the toy section all I found was opened bags!
I like how you can technically give Harry all three of the Hallows with Dumbledore's wand (the Elder Wand), the Invisibility Cloak, and the Golden Snitch (the Resurrection Stone)
Have the whole series with the exception of Flitwick and Trelawney. The way I found Graves was using Chirrut Imwes hair and yes, I have a super rare figure.
I bought a whole box managed to get all the figures but was really annoyed because the person selling it had swapped out some of the more rare figures or figures with rare/new parts with the common ones leaving me with far too many of some characters and only 1 of like 5 characters which is the opposite reason to why I bought a box (just a big fan of Harry potter don't plan on selling them)
Articulated little minifig legs ! I've been waiting so long for these ! I don't like Harry Potter movies, but these minifigs are really nice. And when I see all of the efforts put in this series, I feel like Lego invested a lot of money in this theme, more than for the others themes...
I managed to get Percival by luck today. I had previously lost hope of acquiring the figure by normal means because I had the same experience with series 18 policeman, (which I still don't have, but want it.) I managed to get mine from a Best Buy when I noticed they actually sold toys and had Lego with a case of minifures. At first it looked like they had been gone through like I've seen before and tried to search but no luck. Upon further inspection I realized a few minifures had just been moved around. That prompted me to start feeling them until I found it in the box. I was glad to have finally gotten that figure even after four months of no luck since their release in my area. I don't think it is fair at all for this practice to exist. I like to collect a complete series, and this method of marketing ruins the fun for the people who just want to have the figure and would appreciate it. I hope Lego stops this and just makes an equal amount of each figure if possible.

About Grindewald. Today I went to the official Lego shop, and there was new box of these minifigures. In that shop you have choice what minifigure you can buy. But box was just new and seller didn't unpacked it yet. So I helped him and found GRINDEWALD! I was so happy because he is one per box!
Dan TH-cam is he on a certain place, just like the police officer? I was lucky too because I have a local small toy store in my village, and I asked them if they would order series 18, and if they could call me if it arrived. They said they would wait with unpacking untill I would arrive. So BOOM I came in and found the policeman in 2 minutes (I did a feel check and he was one place away from where he was supposed to be.
I was in Leicester Square and tbh everyone was having great fun looking for Graves. The staff were helping with feeling, and in the end many people left with one (including me :) )

They had one box at my store, and for some reason, all the packs with dumbledore and Voldemort were missing. There were still about 50 packs in the box! At this point I just need those two figures.
Probably the only series which i'm gonna get all the figures. Also getting 2 ekstra cho changs to get some ravenclaw uniforms Also: the thing dumbledore is Holding, is that the water that can see memories, or the thing that dumbledore drinks in year 6?
I agree 100 % it's hard enough to find the collectable packages as is now that toysrus is gone. Then with only one in a box and most stores through them in a bin for people to rifle though.
I don't thing there was any need to make a chase figure here because these are going to sell so so well. I have had so many people ask me to find the full series for them that I do actually go out and buy a full box today. That will get me one full set and one nearly full set (-the chase (graves?)) And 17 more towards a further set. I am still going to have to go out and get more though to complete the sets plus I think I might need another full set for a friend. LEGO are going to make an absolute _mint_ on this series simply by virtue of Harry potter fans. Even the ones not interested in Lego usually.

ukilhim keen 'technically' being key here. The snitch didn't contain the stone untill Half-Blood prince. This snitch is year-one snitch.

I love how each of the student torsos is gender- and race-neutral, and that these Gryffindor uniforms are all different designs.

I find it amusing that a noseless character (Voldemort.) has the only nose (on a normal head.) In this series at least.

The teenage legs are pretty cool, I hope they use them on Spider-Man in the Far From Home sets, so he'll be shorter than the regular minifigures.
I love this series! Some of my favorites are Luna and Dobby.

I agree 100 % it's hard enough to find the collectable packages as is now that toysrus is gone. Then with only one in a box and most stores through them in a bin for people to rifle though.
I want the Cho figure, just for the ravenclaw uniform and unprinted teen legs. As well as the wand+sprue.

I don't thing there was any need to make a chase figure here because these are going to sell so so well. I have had so many people ask me to find the full series for them that I do actually go out and buy a full box today. That will get me one full set and one nearly full set (-the chase (graves?)) And 17 more towards a further set. I am still going to have to go out and get more though to complete the sets plus I think I might need another full set for a friend. LEGO are going to make an absolute _mint_ on this series simply by virtue of Harry potter fans. Even the ones not interested in Lego usually.
