Huge Kingdom Hearts fan here! Always glad to see people try out the series. 358/2 is a difficult game to get into the series with. The gameplay hasn't aged very well tbh... But the story is really interesting and doesn't require context from previous games. I think it's definitely worth playing but don't cross off the entire series if you don't like the gameplay. Personally my favorites are Kingdom Hearts 2 and Dream Drop Distance (3DS). The gameplay and story in both are best in the series imo. Kingdom Hearts 1 and Birth by Sleep (PSP) are also really popular.

I also have a pink ds lite, had one as a kid as my first handheld. Randomly found one in town while shopping and decided to buy it!. Basically use for my gba games exclusively and decorated it with random stickers.

yes it’s fun to play. as long as you charge your ds lite before traveling, it’s great for long trips.
