It was Jellybeans first ballad, he was really nervous about it. And, the writers of the song were very hesitant about allowing Madonna to sing their song. They didn't think she could carry a ballad. She proved them wrong. This went to the top of the charts. And, stayed for a minute.
@@EmpressReacts I will say this. It's not anyone's sound. It's her sound. She was very hands on during the producing of LAV. Niles Rodgers commented about it, and other engineers and such. They said that she was there from the time they opened til they closed. She just picks really good producers to collaborate with on her albums.
@@Joelsellers29 i get that she's hands on but producers are always going to bring their signature sound as well and bring out something different in the artist. Her 2nd #1. I still listen to this all the time. Makes you think about falling in love the first time. The dance queen showed that she could hold her own on a ballard.
Awww this song still gives me goosebumps even now!! 🥰 She performed this when I FINALLY went to my first Madonna concert “The Reinvention Tour” in 2004 and dedicated it to all of her fans that “Have stuck with me through thick and f***ing thin”... it was an emotional moment seeing her sing this live after being a fan since I was a toddler! 🥲 Yes, surprisingly it was “jellybean” 😲 So glad you loved it... can’t wait for you to hear “Into The Groove” It’s a 💯 Bop Bop Bop Bop Ah Ahhhhh 🤣

This is one of her greatest early songs and a great ballad. Madonna doesn’t have Whitney/Mariah vocals but her emotion in her singing is outstanding. I Cannot wait for the next reaction. “into the Groove” is pure 🔥and still slaps.
Wait wait,... first we need to hear the odd one out. We need to hear GAMBLER. For me Gambler is a Madonna song that is not a Madonna song. It is so different,... it always reminds me of Maniac from Flashdance,.. but sung by Madonna.
100% she's very good at ballads and connecting with her audience and makes you really feel what she's singing about. It doesn't even matter that she doesn't have the biggest voice in the world.
I gotta admit I find myself opening up TH-cam just to see if there is a Madonna reaction from Empress. Dunno, maybe I/we are “Crazy for You” 🤪 bah bamp bah bamp...ahhhh
One of my favorite ballads. It is so simple and to the point and relatable. Just about a girl in smoky bar seeing a man from across the room and feeling that instant chemistry. This song was the make out song at all the school dances.

This song knocked We Are The World from the number 1 spot. After finding out from your commenters that Madonna was not asked to be a part of the charity song, I'm glad Madonna showed them the power of what this single lady can do! The version you just reacted to cut off the end that had Madonna holding the note/ word "you", not quite like Mariah, but she held the note nicely.
One of my favorite Madonna love songs from early in her career from the Vision Quest soundtrack: good movie btw, definitely check it out! Thanks for sharing!

There luckily are so many more juicy ballads to come on your Madge journey! "Ten - Up High" for me as well:)
Madonna may not be Whitney with her voice but the way she sells emotion is unlike any other. You really feel a Madonna ballad. Live To Tell is coming soon!
I remember the movie 13 Going on 30 where the main character as a 13 year old crying in the closet and wishing she was 30 with this song playing in the background. This song really represents the 80s to a lot of people. Such an underrated gem from Madonna’s catalogue. Weird to call a no. 1 hit underrated but that’s Madonna for you.
One of my all time favourite Madonna ballads (I think my most favourite is Live to Tell which will be coming up on album #3 but she has so many beautiful ballads, I change my mind regularly!) - glad you loved it too!
Before this song came, she was considered a "dance artist", although this proved she was more than that... From her 12 #1 songs on BB Hot 100, 4 of them are ballads and from her 38 top ten hits (a record for a female artist) 9 are ballads with a couple which were top 20 too!! She's versatile, for sure!

there is just too much to say 😂 your reaction was "10s across the board" for me..just how much you enjoyed it, bc this song is really just so romantic and beautifully sung. beautiful reaction
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this song. 10's across the board for your reaction. It's always been one of my favorite Madonna songs. These three movie songs (Crazy For You, Gambler and Into The Groove) hearken back to the more urban style of the debut album, contrasting with the more shopping mall pop sound of the Like a Virgin album that was out at the same time. As a result, it gave her a more varied sound that appealed to a broader range of listeners. Just when you thought Madonna went too bubblegum with Virgin, here comes Crazy For You and company. The version of CFY that you listened to is shorter than the single version. Be sure to react to the music video, as it features the full version and has a slightly extra flair that you may enjoy.
Soooooooo. You got into the groove and gambler. “ Just listened to gambler on TH-cam. Still a bop!! And into the groove ofcoarse ❤️” Before 86’s True Blue. She was married to Sean Penn during that time. She dedicated that record to him. That album eventually sold 25 million world wide 😳. Big hit for Madonna’s 3rd album
@@EmpressReacts lil taste lil taste😂😂. Gambler gambler ,I’m a gambler and I will take you by surprise, Gambler ill aim this straight between your eyes. Ok that’s it that’s it. No mo I’ll get yelled at😁😆😆 I tink you’ll like gambler. I’ll gamble my 2cents in 🤣
This was an immediate hit and got her a Grammy nomination. One of her best ballads, which showed a different side to her developing vocal talents. (BTW, the melodic instrumental riff in the background [tadadah] is the beautiful sound of an oboe.) So glad you liked it!
@@EmpressReacts The oboe always adds that something extra to a song. That Grammy nom was for best female pop performer, according to wiki. She lost to Whitney Houston.
Your reaction to this early Madonna classic is infectious (and to many, many more hits that followed her iconic career) brought back many fond and happy memories and similar feelings as yours for what millions of Madonna fans and admirers experienced when they discovered her music and artistry. Thank you for featuring her.
Ah man them feels on this song. This song was very important for Madonna and of my favorites. Her first official ballad. Many were suspect she couldn't pull of such a song for a movie. She proved them wrong when Crazy For You played on adult contemporary and earned Madonna her first Grammy nomination. Madonna had to add this song during her Rebel Heart Tour in 2015 in my homeland in Manila, Philippines cause it's the NO 1 Madonna song over there. They was hype to hear it.
@@EmpressReacts ya know next to black folks, Filipinos are some of the best singers on the planet. I have some request that you need to hear especially on Wishbus 107.5. It's a suped up studio on a bus that travels around the Philippines putting on the best singers and rappers on the island.
Now you have to react to “Into the Groove”...another huge smash for her. It was put on the re-release of the Like a Virgin album.....it’s a straight banger.
I was 9 when the song came out..her live performance in the Virgin Tour is really good..she started to show more of her vocal range..Crazy For You was her second #1 song after Like A Virgin..
the first song i ever heard from Madonna was Borderline and it was love from the start and crazy for you along with into the groove came next and that just cemented my love for eternity. yeah it sounds cheesy lol but true
It is good but just wait til you hear Live To Tell, the first single from her 1986 True Blue album. I think people were shocked when she opened that album era with such an introperspective ballad. She delivered amazing ballads over the years, especially the 90s...so amazing she actually released a ballads compilation with 4, 5 new songs added in 1995. Fun Fact: Kylie Minogue mentioned that was her favorite high school school dance schmoozy slow jam. She's a huge Madonna fan. Rain, Bad Girl, I'll Remember, Frozen, Live To Tell, Love Don't Live Here Anymore '95, This Used To Be My Playground, Oh Father, Gone, Take A Bow, Secret...her list of timeless ballads is long.
This must be the radio edit, I miss the end, it fades out a bit to soon, but yes...such a great classic. I can't remember when I heard it first, but in '85 Madonna had so many hits, there she was, this mega superstar!! And then she did 'Gambler', live from the virgin tour, but don't forget 'Into the groove'. Oh and then there is her live aid performance. Oh my...what a year that was. And I found my homegirl for life!
Dear Empress, I'm so glad to see your beautiful smile back, listening to this amazing ballad, after your disappointment about "stay". Now "Into the groove" and "gambler" are awaiting you, and I think you will like them too. You will find a beautiful live version of "Crazy for you" in LAV tour, our first Madonna concert together. I Hope so 😊 Love you sweet Empress
Hey Empress, so glad you love this one, it's on my top 10 Madonna somgs. She seemed to her use lower register in parts...what did you think about that part of her voice? Stay well!
Love this song.. Love this reaction and yes she delivered on it and it was important and missed by the record companies because this was that song at the end of the night.. It was lovers choice for teenagers and young people at the club or school disco.. and it had an edge.. Madonna's edge so it was a slow burn across the world hitting number 1 and then sticking around and coming back.. It got her taken seriously by the music press too and I think won her nominations or awards.. Her cameo in the film is authentic too. Madonna's ballads are something else.. I love them.. The song that made me a fan this came in a close second and sealed the deal I had no idea Jellybean produced this... I wonder if its about him/them....? There's definitely a vibe
The next in line are Gambler and Into the Groove, my favorite! Please watch the videos for Gambler and Into The Groove. Btw Into The Groove was crowned dance song of the decade at the end of the 80s by Billboard. Groove is a pioneer it's sorta high energy disco but has some elements of electro hip hop and drum protohouse sounds and it's highly, highly infectious. Wherever you hear it, I guess u would just start to sing along. Please try it with the videos:)))
@@EmpressReacts I've just watched your reaction!!! Thank U and I'm glad you've njoyed it like I thought you would. Even without the videos the songs are gems but Into The Groove is a stroke of pop genius! At least for me:)) Thank You!!!!
Dear Empress, just some Little info about "gambler" and "into the groove". Gambler was another single from the "vision quest" soundtrack and It was produced by Jellybean as well, so I think you will find It interesting too. Gambler Is the only single not published in any album or compilation. But It was quite successful anyway. Into the groove has been defined from Billboard the greatest disco track of the eighties. But it's been produced by Stephen Bray. It's really iconic and One of the First worldwide great Number One for Madonna. I fell in love with Madonna after this song. And after her videos too 😊
Empress this is one of her best ballads. Her second #1 single. It’s from the soundtrack to a movie she was in called Vision Quest. That soundtrack also has the song Gambler which is a cool song. Crazy for You was the slow jam at proms and skating rinks around the country! Also make sure to react to the non album single from this same year called “Into the Groove”. My favorite Madonna song of all time, and definitely a classic dance hit of hers. Love your reactions girl!!!
@@EmpressReacts I just watched your reaction. Loved it. Glad you loved the song. Such a classic! More greatness to come on your Madonna journey! Can’t wait to see you go through it and relive it through your eyes. 🙌🏻
This was me & my ex-gf Samantha’s song in the 6th grade, we stayed on the phone for hours and kept playing songs back-and-forth, and I INSISTED on this one. I mean... 👑 Hi Samantha. Hope all is well.
Not gonna lie I got nervous when I saw "This song is um". haha. I thought that you weren't going to like it. So glad you enjoyed this song! Madonna is so good at ballads in my opinion. Her vocals suit them well as well as the emotion she can convey in them. Madonna is many things but where I think she reigns supreme is three tiered 1. Catchy and smart pop songs 2. Dance/club music that tops the charts 3. Amazing ballads Thanks again for a great reaction. I'm loving the journey even though I know we'll differ in opinion at some point. I'm bracing myself for the heartache of that moment. haha. Take care.
From the Vision Quest film (1985) starring Matthew Modine and Linda Fiorentino. Madonna also did the song "Gambler" for this film as well. Gee, is someone turning 24 this year Empress? hmmm haha. 10's across the board for this classic fire bop. I turned 5 when this came out :X
"Borderline's older sister"??? 🤣 DEAD... Yes this was produced by Jellybean along with "Gambler" the other song from the Vision Quest film. "Crazy For You" became her 2nd US #1 Hit. FUN FACT: Madonna did her own backing vocals on this joint
By the way, Empress. This song was Madonna's second #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the late spring of 1985. This song and Madonna's other song called Gambler, both appeared on the soundtrack album from a movie called "Vision Quest".
You need to react to ‘Into The Groove’ this song was added to ‘Like A Virgin’ album when it was re-issued. It was a big hit world-wide hitting No.1 in numerous countries and immensely popular on the dance floor at the night clubs. It was written by Madonna for the soundtrack to her debut acting career on the movie ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’. But because it was only released as a B-side to her 12 inch single ‘Angel’ in the US, it was not eligible to chart. It was honoured by Billboard magazine at the end of the 80’s the dance track of the decade.
@@EmpressReacts thanks! Amazing performance by Madonna on that one, she never sang it live til 2015 on her RebelHeart tour. Great videos, keep em coming!

She was married to Sean Penn during that time. She dedicated that record to him. That album eventually sold 25 million world wide 😳. Big hit for Madonna’s 3rd album
😳😳i still can't believe she got married when she was 💣
@@EmpressReacts yep she did. She has said before Sean is her greatest love. But they divorced in 89
@@EmpressReacts lil taste lil taste😂😂. Gambler gambler ,I’m a gambler and I will take you by surprise, Gambler ill aim this straight between your eyes. Ok that’s it that’s it. No mo I’ll get yelled at😁😆😆 I tink you’ll like gambler. I’ll gamble my 2cents in 🤣
Your comments on vedios are amazing!!! Love to you!! From Springfield Missouri!!!
This song is amazing. Simple and sweet. Makes you feel good.
exactly!
This was an immediate hit and got her a Grammy nomination. One of her best ballads, which showed a different side to her developing vocal talents. (BTW, the melodic instrumental riff in the background [tadadah] is the beautiful sound of an oboe.) So glad you liked it!
interesting! an oboe never heard of it! and so glad she got a nom - too bad she didn't win
@@EmpressReacts The oboe always adds that something extra to a song. That Grammy nom was for best female pop performer, according to wiki. She lost to Whitney Houston.
You need to react to gambler by madonna
yep its on the list✅
Her vocals performing this song at the virgin tour were awesome, must to see it
can't wait to see it🔥😊
one of her best ballads for sure!!
🔥🔥
Your reaction to this early Madonna classic is infectious (and to many, many more hits that followed her iconic career) brought back many fond and happy memories and similar feelings as yours for what millions of Madonna fans and admirers experienced when they discovered her music and artistry. Thank you for featuring her.
OMG. I knew you would love the background. It's one of my favorites for background. I enjoyed watching your smile as the song unfolded.
I love it! The background was too 🔥🔥
God I love your reactions, you get music perfectly
😍thank u!!
Excellent! A beautiful ballad, too bad it was and is very underrated.
underrated 😳 wow! this song too 🔥🔥
Vision Quest
One of my favorites
i see why! its 🔥🔥
One of my more top fav Madonna songs
🔥🔥
Ah man them feels on this song. This song was very important for Madonna and of my favorites. Her first official ballad. Many were suspect she couldn't pull of such a song for a movie. She proved them wrong when Crazy For You played on adult contemporary and earned Madonna her first Grammy nomination. Madonna had to add this song during her Rebel Heart Tour in 2015 in my homeland in Manila, Philippines cause it's the NO 1 Madonna song over there. They was hype to hear it.
oh wow sooo cool! glad she proved the doubters wrong
@@EmpressReacts ya know next to black folks, Filipinos are some of the best singers on the planet. I have some request that you need to hear especially on Wishbus 107.5. It's a suped up studio on a bus that travels around the Philippines putting on the best singers and rappers on the island.
This is my fave Madonna song. Such a bop. Loved this.
I hope you do the video reactions. Her transformation from albums and videos are great
after i listen to the song gambler
Now you have to react to “Into the Groove”...another huge smash for her. It was put on the re-release of the Like a Virgin album.....it’s a straight banger.
i really hope it bangs🔥
I was 9 when the song came out..her live performance in the Virgin Tour is really good..she started to show more of her vocal range..Crazy For You was her second #1 song after Like A Virgin..
i can't wait to see😍
YES!!! So glad you did this. There is a dif version with an extended ending which was always my fav part.
i gotta check it out!
the first song i ever heard from Madonna was Borderline and it was love from the start and crazy for you along with into the groove came next and that just cemented my love for eternity. yeah it sounds cheesy lol but true
i totally get what you mean about borderline😍
You had me sacred with your title, but I’m glad you loved it! This song is truly a bop! 👏👏👏
😂 yep its 🔥🔥
It is good but just wait til you hear Live To Tell, the first single from her 1986 True Blue album.
Rain, Bad Girl, I'll Remember, Frozen, Live To Tell, Love Don't Live Here Anymore '95, This Used To Be My Playground, Oh Father, Gone, Take A Bow, Secret...her list of timeless ballads is long.
interesting!!! didn't know kylie was such a madonna fan and i can't wait to hear more slow songs
Another fantastic tune from Madge. Her early stuff was soooo good!
Couldn't agree more!🔥🔥
This must be the radio edit, I miss the end, it fades out a bit to soon, but yes...such a great classic. I can't remember when I heard it first, but in '85 Madonna had so many hits, there she was, this mega superstar!! And then she did 'Gambler', live from the virgin tour, but don't forget 'Into the groove'. Oh and then there is her live aid performance. Oh my...what a year that was. And I found my homegirl for life!
so cool! i can't wait to experience it all
Dear Empress,
I'm so glad to see your beautiful smile back, listening to this amazing ballad, after your disappointment about "stay". Now "Into the groove" and "gambler" are awaiting you, and I think you will like them too. You will find a beautiful live version of "Crazy for you" in LAV tour, our first Madonna concert together. I Hope so 😊 Love you sweet Empress
Thank you so much! Yep our girl brought back my smile...this song is too 🔥🔥
Crazy for the song ICONIC 🤩zane
🔥
Hey Empress, so glad you love this one, it's on my top 10 Madonna somgs. She seemed to her use lower register in parts...what did you think about that part of her voice? Stay well!
quoting britney "drive me craaazy" ❤
Love this song.. Love this reaction and yes she delivered on it and it was important and missed by the record companies because this was that song at the end of the night.. It was lovers choice for teenagers and young people at the club or school disco.. and it had an edge.. Madonna's edge so it was a slow burn across the world hitting number 1 and then sticking around and coming back.. It got her taken seriously by the music press too and I think won her nominations or awards.. Her cameo in the film is authentic too.
Madonna's ballads are something else.. I love them.. The song that made me a fan this came in a close second and sealed the deal
I had no idea Jellybean produced this... I wonder if its about him/them....? There's definitely a vibe
maybe, but from what i understand about madonna she was always on to the next😂 but yaaaas the vibe is real💯
Please try it with the videos:)))
i hope the song is as good as you say 😊 and i'm going to watch the vids after i hear the final song from this era
@@EmpressReacts
I've just watched your reaction!!!
Thank U and I'm glad you've njoyed it like I thought you would.
Even without the videos the songs are gems but Into The Groove is a stroke of pop genius! At least for me:))
Thank You!!!!
My fav ballad!❤️
sooo 🔥
Dear Empress,
just some Little info about "gambler" and "into the groove". And after her videos too 😊
i just dropped the into the groove reaction🔥 wow, i thought jellybean was the producer😂
Love your reactions girl!!!
wow!!! thank u!!! just dropped the into the groove reaction!😍
@@EmpressReacts oh I can’t wait to see it girl! 🙌🏻❤️
@@EmpressReacts I just watched your reaction. Loved it. Glad you loved the song. Such a classic! More greatness to come on your Madonna journey! Can’t wait to see you go through it and relive it through your eyes. 🙌🏻
The ultimate slow bop with your boo
🔥🔥
This was me & my ex-gf Samantha’s song in the 6th grade, we stayed on the phone for hours and kept playing songs back-and-forth, and I INSISTED on this one. I mean... 👑
Hi Samantha. Hope all is well.
Not gonna lie I got nervous when I saw "This song is um". haha. I thought that you weren't going to like it. So glad you enjoyed this song! Madonna is so good at ballads in my opinion. Her vocals suit them well as well as the emotion she can convey in them. Madonna is many things but where I think she reigns supreme is three tiered
1. Catchy and smart pop songs
2. Dance/club music that tops the charts
3. Amazing ballads
Thanks again for a great reaction. I'm loving the journey even though I know we'll differ in opinion at some point. I'm bracing myself for the heartache of that moment. haha. Take care.
😂yep i can't deny this song is 🔥
When you're in love❤❤❤
🔥🔥
From the Vision Quest film (1985) starring Matthew Modine and Linda Fiorentino. Madonna also did the song "Gambler" for this film as well. Gee, is someone turning 24 this year Empress? hmmm haha. 10's across the board for this classic fire bop. I turned 5 when this came out :X
You should listen to Gambler too!!
yep, its on the list✅
Wow! Empress I;m shocked you like this song
i ❤ a good love song
"Borderline's older sister"??? 🤣 DEAD... Yes this was produced by Jellybean along with "Gambler" the other song from the Vision Quest film. "Crazy For You" became her 2nd US #1 Hit. FUN FACT: Madonna did her own backing vocals on this joint
damn, so i was shouting out madonna the whole song 😂🔥
It was honoured by Billboard magazine at the end of the 80’s the dance track of the decade.
wow! so B sides couldn't chart?! that's crazy! dang she was robbed of a #1.
This is my fav Madonna song. But ‘Rain’ and ‘Ray of Light’ comes very close..
LMAOOOO Girl you were gettin it I was living
You should listen to Love Don’t Live Here Anymore, from her Like A Virgin album, amazing vocals on that one too
i listened to it, before I knew I gonna take a Madonna journey. Here's my first time: th-cam.com/video/Zdgv5Ihxvc4/w-d-xo.html
@@EmpressReacts thanks! Amazing performance by Madonna on that one, she never sang it live til 2015 on her RebelHeart tour. Great videos, keep em coming!
