I love how she and her son have good relationships because usually in Kitchen Nightmares, the family is always fighting but this duo works together pretty well even when they were clueless at first. They were not in denial either and listen to Gordon's criticism.
Except for changing the menu back to the old one after the revisit show, getting accused of posting fake positive reviews herself, changing the name of the business twice after getting continuous bad reviews, changing the name for a third time back to the original before finally closing for good yeah she made a real success of the place.
@@starblaiz1986 I think with a lot of the restaurants on this show they go back to the old way because it's cost cutting. They go back to using the same old cheap frozen crap because it's cheap. It's a case of getting the production company to make the place over, get new free equipment and fittings etc to maximise the value of the building. Couple that with milking the public for 6 months and sell up. I think most have no plans to make an actual go of the place they just want to minimise their losses and get out. It's a win for the production company they have a show to sell, it's a win for the restaurant owner they get to dump an unwanted business with minimal loss. The only losers are the suckers who go to the place expecting a decent experience because the show gives the impression the place is decent now.
After the pandemic and all the problems restaurants have had to deal with over the last year or so this would be the perfect time for Gordon to bring kitchen nightmares back

It was called "George's Handlebar" in the 80's when I worked there for 3 weeks, George was seen in the show during one dinner service saying "please make sure the french fries are not burnt". He used to ride one of those bicycles with the large front wheels around the parking lot.

It's the american type editing.. don't believe everything you saw, there's lot of that in kitchen nightmare's episodes but in reality they talked way more, but for example if gordon was talking they would filmed steven while he was quiet, then filmed gordon and during editing they've put thoses shots together to create this mood and make it look like both were silent and staring at eachother or avoiding eye contact. same for Masterchef and most american shows so in reality during the awkward moment the other answered and had a normal chat, but for tv it's better to make a bit of "drama" if you could call it that.
Gordon and Stephen meeting again is just classic. I love how awkward Gordon got when Stephen was talking about his dating life, just: 'people just want to have sex' gordon:...... 'do you like the pulled pork?' 😄

Casa Roma: what a transformation. So amazing to see the owner now calling the shots, it is her restaurant and now she has the confidence to set the standards and call the shots, and she's made it successful.
They are like totally different people. This is the reason I like this show as it shows how one can change so drastically, it is very motivational. I'm mostly bed bound to due depression but when I watch these it makes me change a lot in my life.
Why would anyone become a chef, who doesn't like being chef and has no passion about cooking food? This is one of those fields of work, in which you HAVE to have some passion about it to do it right.
She probably joined as a assistant cook or something like easier job and they just made her chef. She said herself in the episode. "I am not creative". She probably only wanted to do as someone tell her what do and chill, no responsibility.
She needed a job so she applied. They didn’t have to hire her specifically but they chose to anyways. And they never fired her because they thought her food was good. Now her food genuinely is good.

I feel like as more people started to like her cooking, she grew more passion for the job. She may not like the cooking part of the job, but she liked seeing people enjoy her food.
She probably applied for the job because hey, pay boost, and got the job because . . . y'know what, with the kind of chefs we see on this show, I can believe that she was actually the best out of the ones who applied. Also she's notable for being one of the few chefs who made an initial dish that Gordon actually liked.

I wonder how many restaurants are still open. I remember googling out of curiosity but that was pre covid and even then only a dozen were left. I was sad over every restaurant that closed (except Amy's backing company)
I found out on Google that among all of 109 Restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares Episode only 21 that's still opening, 16 for US versions and 5 for UK versions. Even worse, the entire restaurants in Season 2 US version are closed.

I don't understand how people who own these failing restaurants hire head chefs who don't know how to cook/have no passion for cooking. Why would anyone become a chef, who doesn't like being chef and has no passion about cooking food? This is one of those fields of work, in which you HAVE to have some passion about it to do it right.

I feel like as more people started to like her cooking, she grew more passion for the job. She may not like the cooking part of the job, but she liked seeing people enjoy her food.
She probably applied for the job because hey, pay boost, and got the job because . . . y'know what, with the kind of chefs we see on this show, I can believe that she was actually the best out of the ones who applied.
Also she's notable for being one of the few chefs who made an initial dish that Gordon actually liked.

I never liked Gordon Ramsay until watching this series on youtube. He really is a genuinely nice guy who loves families and individuals. He oozes love. His initial image is phoney compared to the size of his heart.

I wonder how many restaurants are still open. I remember googling out of curiosity but that was pre covid and even then only a dozen were left. I was sad over every restaurant that closed (except Amy's backing company)

I don't understand how people who own these failing restaurants hire head chefs who don't know how to cook/have no passion for cooking. I mean, I understand owning and running a restaurant is difficult. I get that it takes a lot of hard work and you're bound to make mistakes... but I don't understand how they hire and pay these people and then don't understand where the problems are coming from. How is it that out of all the applicants who applied for that job, he ended up hiring the one person who didn't want to be a chef at all? It's baffling.
