I think that BMW definitely values the opinions and inputs of a semi-professional driver since many M4 GT4's will be driven by drivers with similar skills and racing experience. Having a race car that's approachable for "everyone" must be a key target of the project.

But he remained loyal to his Bimmer and if Im not mistaken BMW took notice. I'd really like to know if Jimmy is now reaping the rewards of that loyalty. As mentioned elsewhere, the GT4 is going to attract a lot of AM drivers and so having one jump in during testing makes sense, but they could have chosen anyone and they chose our Jimmer.

I've driven the M4 Competition Coupe at Oulton Park, it was a little over 500BHP and it felt absolutely amazing to drive. So I can't behind to imagine how the GT4 M4 is.

Great vid Jimmer you were fantastic out there. To be only a couple of seconds off BMW’s pro drivers with a can and track you’ve never driven before is mega. Can’t wait to see what your 2023 plans are for IRL racing this season Jimmy 💪🏻👏🏻

Living the dream there Jimmer! Did a great job picking up that unknown circuit and car combo so quickly, I think the pros were quietly impressed/worried too!!

This is either a really nice thing BMW have done, or a fantastic bit of marketing. Probably both. Either way it’s really awesome to see you getting these opportunities and I hope you’ll be getting many more!

It is not everyone that gets a drive from a big team like BMW. They had great respect and faith in you to drive this car. Maybe a future team driver.

BMW was smart to put you in the car, Jimmy. You are exactly the right person to translate professional drivers to talented amateur drivers, aka their target demographic

What a fun video. It would of been interesting to see how driving in a sim (if the track had been available) would of brought you into the test more prepared, and how the "head start" may of translated into gains.
