They are the first, also the one and only to have the official title - the nation's girl group. Now the group is inactive since half of the members have already moved to different companies, only Taeyeon Hyoyeon Yuri Yoona are still under SM. It seems like the girls make a comeback every 5 years for their anni

Aww, it's so wonderful to watch the reaction to Girls Generation! This was my first Female KPOP group that I discovered in 2012 when I was 12 y.o. This is a very iconic Female group in the KPOP industry! I love them so much, thank’s for reaction guys ❤ I'm waiting for more reactions to them

"Gee" was the first K-pop Girl Group MV to hit 100 Million views on TH-cam ( a really BIG deal for even Western artists, back in 2009).
SNSD were the first K-Pop artists ever to win #1 on Music Bank for 9 consecutive weeks (a record that only PSY's 'Gangnam Style has beaten).
Gee was awarded Song of The Year, and later Song of the Decade. It started the 'Mannequin challenge' and created the worldwide "colored skinny jean' fashion trend has beaten since).
Yet GEE WASN"T SUPPOSED TO BE THEIR COMEBACK SINGLE!
It was supposed to be a track called "Dancing Queen" which licensed the music from Duffy's 'Mercy' (while the 'DQ' lyrics were original), but then Duffy released the original in February 2008, with international sales and critical success, so SM shelved 'Dancing Queen' ( even the 'DQ' MV was already complete, so SM 'ate' the cost of that) and had to pick a replacement...which was Gee...even though SM thought "the song was childish and the melody weak".
'Gee' was really the first K-Pop 'Global' hit. It's popularity extended beyond the typical pop consumer demographic of Teens and Twenties/Thirties, to kids and 40/50 year-olds.
Dancing Queen (the song and MV) was eventually released in 2013 as a 'teaser' for the "I Got A Boy' comeback, which won TH-cam's first MV of the Year award, and which also became a global hit.
SNSD paved the way for K-Pop's current global popularity, and for many other reasons they were and remain the most influential group in K-Pop history

All of them are still together except one of the member her name was Jessica and she was kicked out by the group, she and the other members had beef and we still have no idea what the beef was they kept it hidden, and she was the 2nd most good vocalist in the group too it was a shame that she didn't end with good terms with the group
