Wow! What a sweet set-up indeed, excellent detail in view and description. We were blessed to live just outside Duluth for a few years, caught pike that cooked up like a chicken breast, some of the best hunting and fishing is in northern MN 👍

Thanks Josh. Question for you.. Which do you consider to be more important to locating those fish, the structure (breakline) or the cover (clumps and rocks)? Generally speaking, do you start with structure and then look for cover on/near it or vice versa?

It’s amazing what $12-15,000 in screens can do for the few that can afford it.😢😢

Larry Stolzman Have to save your pennies.

BassinWithBuck: I agree, but that’s a lot of pennys and life gives you a great many other opportunities for that money. It’s all a matter of priorities. Every body has their own. I’d rather help my church and family.

Larry Stolzman I hear you there. For that reason I went with the Elite Ti units. Still get side scan, chirp sonar, etc. I drive up from Kansas to fish Mille Lacs 3 or 4 times a year and I’ve never had problems finding them with my units. Tight lines friend.

BassinWithBuck: Sounds like a great alternative. I use a Helix 7 SI on the console and a Helix 5 up front. Lower cost alternatives that work well. I fish the Madison, WI chain of lakes which provide nice pan fish, LMB, SMB, Northerns and Muskie. Hope you can try it sometime. Be safe and enjoy fishing as much as you can.
